I try to make it so that the joke isn’t “ew this food is gross” but rather “this idiot has a 3rd grader’s pallet”. Sort of like I’m playing a character. I can totally see how that can get obnoxious though. I’ll certainly try to tone it down. The only problem is that SO LITTLE actually happens in Food Wars EXCEPT for long montages of food that there’s really little else for me to commentate on 😅

It accomplishes nothing except making you come as an ignorant example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. The writer of this manga had proffesional chefs as consultants, and chefs that have read it have praised it for it, the fact that the recipes are actually pretty universally good is one of the things that this show is known for. As a consequence, when you dismiss them as "gross recipes that the author wants people to think are cool" it comes less as "funny joke" and more as "loudmouth ignorant tries to sound smart by yelling his opinions with confidence".
