I imagine the Jolene thing is kinda like the movie “Us” if you’ve seen that. Jolene wasn’t actually related to Waverly or anything but she was bound to her since birth.
The more I watch this episode the more it seems to me like a depiction of depression, in an artistic way. Like sometimes when someone is at their lowest, a part of them feels like no one loves them and maybe life would be better off without them. Jolene seems like a depiction of Waverly’s hopelessness, anger, and hatred for herself for being different. Just an interpretation that came to me this time

This show is a bit messy sometimes which can make it hard to follow. Julian is an angel and Waverly's father, so Waverly is half angel. (I suppose this is why Bobo calls her his angel.) Jolene was essentially Waverly's evil "twin"; a demon who could only be freed by killing her. I think that because they were connected, Jolene could not kill her herself without dying, so that's why she tries to get Waverly to kill herself by putting everyone under her spell and turn against her.
