Got a few updates for ya. If you don’t wanna read about my cat mom stress, basically: no Hunt page today or River St page tomorrow! Will be back on Monday with an Occultus update if the pet health stars align.
Long version:
Corbet aka “Tiny”, one of my cats, has been really sick for the last few weeks. After multiple tests and vet visits she’s been diagnosed with FIP, a rare immune reaction to cat coronavirus (she’s had it since we got her, the immune response is new). This is really bad because there’s no official cure and it’s usually fatal.
However! We’ve found a black market treatment called remedisvir. The Facebook group we joined has had remarkable success with the drug and after talking to our vet we’ve decided to try it out. It’s not officially licensed for pets in the states bc the company who created it can make more money if it’s used for humans. That’s capitalism babey. Anyways she’s started the treatment today, but it’s kind of an intense process, including daily injections and constant monitoring.
So basically my week has been vet visits and calls and driving to the middle of nowhere to buy secret cat drugs and learning how to give my very small cat injections. It’s a lot!!
There will not be a Hunt page today or a River St page tomorrow bc I am absolutely wiped out and I’m still getting used to all this. We should know in the next week or two if the treatment is working so please send us good vibes 🐈⬛❤️
Unless she takes a turn for the worse over the weekend I will return with an Occultus update on Monday. Thank you for being understanding and the many kind comments ❤️❤️ it means a lot!!
