Not gonna lie, I'm with Gannet. If the bird uncle I didn't know about and the not-dead father I never knew were lovingly playing house yet wouldn't let me keep my also-not-dead and infinitely more supportive boyfriend, uncle and dad could eat shit. Is spite the best fuel for flying? (Can't ask Silas, he crashes stuff.)

2019-07-31 01:43:27 +0000 UTCActually you are correct, a longer tail would be a problem with flight if you had a lot of weight and massive wings. That's why larger flying animals had reduced tails/ tail feathers. If the tails also are too long, they would cause too much drag for liftoff. Since Gannet's wings span would probably be closer in size to the Andean Condor, an Albatross or even the extinct Pelagornis sandersi ( extinct sea bird with 24 foot wingspan) , a shorter tail would be the best for him to make any lift off ( despite the fact he would probably be too heavy even with a 24 foot wingspan and other biological mechanics we will ignore since we all want Gannet to fly. Pardon my nerdness but biology is my favorite subject :P and am a big fan of the comic!).
