Let's watch along BATMAN (2022)

Hello dear patrons,

Version at 96% Speed (for those with different speed-frame): https://youtu.be/IAz6JHofv5c

Here we are, with another Batman experience, developed with another point of view. I consider that they've done a good job, but obviously, this is just a personal opinion. What did you think about it? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I definitely have to start watching some DC movies ASAP.

Enjoy and stay safe ๐Ÿ’–

Definitely wanted to hear a spanish-speaker's perspective! You spotted the parallels with Seven as well. It did make me laugh that you were singing Ave Maria at the beginning... and you're a crazy twitch streamer too... hmmm... ;) We see a different Batman in this. Batman is at his best when he's a mix of the man, and the bat. At the beginning, he is much closer to the Bat, Bruce Wayne barely more than a mask. He introduces himself as "vengeance", not "Batman". He's distant from everyone, and doesn't seek justice - he hurts criminals to avenge his parents. Normal people are afraid of him, because he thinks fear is the best tool he has. By the end, he learns he needs to reach out and help people. This isn't Batman's origin story exactly, not as we know it -but it's his origin story as a hero. We have that lovely shot near the end where he's no-longer in the shadows, he's holding the light. Alfred was played by Andy Serkis - Klaue from Marvel, or Gollum from LOTR! Go look up a pic of the actor who played the penguin - Colin Farrell. The makeup is incredible. Watch Man of Steel! I'll definitely be along for the ride with DC movies. I didn't like them when I first saw them, but I've really turned around. Much different tone and some more complex mature themes I think than most of the marvel content (which I also love, but contrast is great). Also consider the TV series Daredevil, which is technically in the Marvel world, but has a more gritty tone than any of the movies (and warning, it is quite violent - but excellently made).

So which is better this movie or the Dark Knight trilogy? The answer is yes. Interesting that you noted how much emphasis they put on the detective aspect, I have seen quite a few compare this to all style noir films. And have you ever heard โ€œAve Mariaโ€ sound so foreboding? I also like the main theme; it kind of reminds me of the Imperial March, which seems fitting, both Batman and Darth Vader are dark knights one fighting for good the other for evil.
