Extra poll: would you like to watch along LONE SURVIVOR for Memorial Day?
Added 2022-05-10 22:22:15 +0000 UTCHello dear patrons!
I have received a suggestion that I personally believe it's a wonderful idea, but of course, I wanted to hear your opinion as well π
As far as I have understood, on the 30th of May, there is a very important national holiday in USA: Memorial Day.
The suggestion received was if we could watch along Lone Survivor and publish it on YouTube on the 30th of May. To do so, I'd have to start next week.
What do you think about it? The poll is up until Monday 16, mainly because I have so much content to work on this week that I won't be able to start watching this movie until then.

Ah, gotcha. π

2022-05-22 14:39:12 +0000 UTCAs I mention in Lone Survivor, I will create a poll to choose a bonus movie related with "Memorial Day". The poll will contain movies mentioned on this poll and on the "Lone Survivor" post. Therefore, it's easier to leave this pinned so members don't have to search for it and check what movies are already mentioned.
2022-05-22 14:25:40 +0000 UTCEverybody has their personal favorites of course, but Iβd put Blackhawk Down as the best of the βmodernβ war movie overall for representing the complexity and chaos of it all. Theyβre all pretty different types of focus though, Lone Survivor also being about one event that goes badly like BHD but very different types of teams/situation vs American Sniper being more of a biopic about one person through his whole military career. The experience of Seal teams like in Lone Survivor and (even more so for) Sniper is very different from the vast majority of what troops/vets would experience. The Rangers of BHD are better trained than most, but still much closer to what normal post Cold War infantry would be doing. All 3 are reasonably accurate, though, and pretty good movies!
