This is my reaction to the second most voted Christmas movie to watch along.
A simple story, but one that touches everyone's heart because it reminds us of our childhood. Those were the days... I rate this movie a perfect 10/10!! (or a perfect 5/7 for those who know the meme 😂)

Merry Christmas! This movie was a classic when I was growing up because my father was just about Ralphie's age in the time (late 30's/early 40's) that the film is set in. Regarding inflation: The Christmas Tree was a major purchase for the season back then. In late December of 1940, $2 was the equivalent to nearly $40 today. I'm sure that the screenwriter didn't take exact economic factors into effect when writing the script, but 80 years ago - especially at the end of the Great Depression, $2 was a considerable sum. My father bought me a BB gun when I was 9, and my kids got them at about the same age when they were growing up (my daughter is 23 and my son is 16), we all love this film!

They're made to be funny in this movie, but if we could see things from their point of view, see THEIR stories and how they were brought up, chances are we could better understand why they act the way they do.
