I heard some one once have the theory that Darla was able to get pregnant because of the life that was suppose to be given to her during The Trial. I always thought that was an interesting take on it and would explain why she was able to get pregnant when no vampire has before. I don't know if it's true but could make sense. In light of other stuff later on it could work. I wonder if the writers ever address it in interviews or anything.

"Help! We got a Code 12 on the 5-8 line!” Is that a specific code for vampire attacks or for mass murder? Either way, being a L.A. bus driver must suck.
“We love you, Angel!” Aww. Now what was that about not being Angel’s friend, Gunn? Gunn had some great moments, from checking to see if the door is unlocked to keeping a chart on Angel’s love interests to juggling. I also wish I could juggle, Liam; it’s very endearing — I mean, have you seen The Young Pope? I wonder if Gunn made the chart after he tried to understand the complicated, incestuous-ish Angelus/Darla/Drusilla family tree in S2.
If your show can have two female characters bond—actually, one is over-identifying with the other—over their forced mystical pregnancies, then you’re abusing a misogynist trope that you never should have used in the first place.
Angel being all protective of Cordy and Fred but not Gunn and Wesley in the episode immediately following “Billy” is disappointing but fits with Angel’s paternalistic ways.
One thing that confuses me is the inexplicable reason for Wesley and Gunn stealing the Nyazian scroll. Did I miss something in a previous episode for why Wesley suddenly needed it?

I love every piece of what's going on right now. I don't think I would have liked any Cordy/Angel romance this time last season, but they've both grown so much and something about where they're at right now just works for me. Angel was able to cover up his awkward bumbling crush on Buffy by popping up out of nowhere, telling her she's in danger, and then swooping off like Tuxedo Mask. Can't really do that with Cordelia lol so it's hilarious seeing him trying to work out his feelings on the spot right in front of her.

Mhm I love how subtle that is. Well, maybe subtle isn't the right word, but I like how Holtz wasn't introduced in this episode but you don't need to remember that he's been in other episodes to get what's going on.

So this vampire hunter has appeared once before. In the season 3 premiere, the guy who was sired by Angel and got his heart cut out... him, his gf, Angel and Darla were being chased by him.
Also, in the episode The Trial, I believe Darla and Angel are trapped in a shed, and they're hiding from this guy until Darla escapes on the horse leaving Angel behind. They mention his name is Holtz.

We saw this guy before in flashbacks in Season 2, with the episode with the Vampire who went to the doctor to remove his heart after his Angel killed his vampire girlfriend, so I think they have been setting this up for awhile

I'm a sucker for best friends falling in love, so I started shipping Cangel in season two. I'm so glad you haven't been spoiled on any of these storylines. Season three is fantastic.

Angel fumbling over what he might or might not feel for Cordelia is so fucking endearing?? It's so awkward yet adorable and I pretty much just melt each time. I'm much more keen on slow-build pairings, both canon and non-canon, and this has been one for me since season 2. Maybe even since the season 1 finale.
It's hard to follow up to, not only the previous episode of Angel, but that entire block of Buffy episodes. But this one really does such a great job of moving things forward in a very promising-looking direction.
