Angel - 2x22 “There’s No Place Like Plrtz Glrb” FULL REACTION

Comments

I wish this had been the title of the first episode of season 3. --> "Oh, Wait, Actually There ARE Some Places Like Plrtz Glrb -- Oops, Sorry!"

UTU49

Oof, that gut punch at the end. That's one of the reasons I love the SlayAlive order, you get swept up in Pylea after the heaviness of BtVS S5, and then there's Willow.

Rachael

I can never forget the end, where Angel learns Buffy is forever dead.

Richard Lucas

Angel’s “You love me?!” and Cordy’s “Not you dumbass!” are immortal to me. Angel can be such a lovable chump sometimes.

Richard Lucas

Got to the part of Cordy telling Gru bye and the video cut out. I swear Dropbox hates me.

Catherine Thurmond

Great points. Gunn takes on a lot of guilt -- he's like Angel that way -- but his leadership grew from being a member of a community/family. He also relates to the rebels as a persecuted group. Wesley's leadership is more detached and informed by his father and the Watchers Council. He looks at the rebels and sees an opportunity to both help them but also use them for their own means to rescue Cordelia and themselves.

Rachael

I was FINE! Loved the episode. Forgot about the end. Now I am crying, and Liam is all upset... WTF?

KiwiJello

Or in War Zone, he and Cordy have a conversation that I think is a good summary of the difference between them. Cordy: "You know, there is nothing like riding in a convertible with the top down to make you see the sun and the sand. Mmm smell that salt air!" Wesley: "That's not salt." Cordy: "I don't think it's air either, but reality is a choice, Wesley. You see what you wanna see and I see what I wanna see." Wesley: "A man exiting an alley pushing a shopping cart." Cordy: "No, I see a very tan life-guard type with large-" Wesley: "No, over there. [...] You go ask this gentleman if he's seen anyone that fits the description of our young vampire killers, while I check the power line for any taps." Cordy: "Uh, why don't you ask him and I check for taps?" Wesley: "Because you can imagine him as a scantily clad buff young stud, while I am stuck with the naked truth."

KT

I think Wesley is always trying to see things as they are, or to consider the worst case scenario and act accordingly even with a high cost like those guys dying or Angel potentially not coming back. There have been a few moments in the series where they contrast his pessimism/realism with Cordelia's optimism and faith. Like in Somnambulist last season, where he saw a pattern of killing indicative of Angelus and so went with the worst case scenario, whereas Cordelia immediately stood by Angel because she has faith in his goodness. It's not that he doesn't believe that Angel is capable of coming back from it, it's that he doesn't put blind faith in things or people. Or at the very least, he's acutely aware that what he's doing is based on faith and not evidence.

KT

"I love him!" I was sort of disappointed that she wasn't referring to Angel—I kinda ship them... OH WELL, DEPRESSION AT THE END WITH WILLOW TIME TO CRY

Abby

I know Silas is a bit meh, but, personally I always enjoy dark, hooded villains with an echo-y voice and a heart of pure evil. Like, Emperor Palpatine is far and away my favourite thing about Star Wars. Silas is the much lower budget version of an Emperor Palpatine-type. #loveforsilas

The Groosalugg honestly to me is not my favorite character ever. I kinda was never quite interested in his character. But Fred is adorable, isn't she?

Jayna

For me the Groosalug was a plot device in Cordelia (and briefly in Angel)'s story so I guess I don't expect much from him. Cordy and Angel thought they had found everything they wanted in Pylea but it turned out not to be as good as they originally thought. Gunn thought people had died because he hadn't been around to help. It turned out that people die no matter what and wherever he was, there were people who needed help. Wesley had been acting like the leader since the middle of the season. In Pylea he had to quit acting and accept that role. It didn't mean he could save everyone but he did what he could in order to achieve the greater good.

I noticed that if mine freezes i can unfreeze by skipping forward a few seconds.. works 99% of the time xx

CeNedra

It was far too expensive for how much space you were given and it took so long to process, so I'd say no. It's difficult to know what to do because if I find somewhere else I'd have to move everything I still have in Drive and here to the new place as I couldn't afford 3 things at once. And transferring all of that would take a long time so I'd have to stop reactions for a little while

Liam, any chance you'll go back to Google Drive?

Sherlyn

It stopped around 42:12 for me too, but I downloaded it too.

homoerotic 80s volleyball scene personified

me, too, but I was able to download it.

Christine

I had the same problem. Got to that exact time and just froze on me every time. I eventually managed to download it, but it took several attempts. Only thing I can say is keep trying. If the download fails click retry and it should pick up where it left off and eventually finish. At least it did for me.

Dana

Unfortunately, I'm having a lot of issues with dropbox in this video. It gets to 42:12 and stops every time on every browser I've tried, and it won't allow me to download it.
