Michael's entire character from the start of the show doesn't make any sense if held under a microscope. just no chance he would have that position for so long before the show starts let alone everything see play out. way more fun to suspend your disbelief. not exactly the same thing, but my point is that even if the Jim/Pam drama is realistic and even well acted, it's out of place and jarring

2025-01-11 06:10:10 +0000 UTCI knew so many Jims and Pams in real life and like all couples they had issues at some point. This show was so relatable with so many people because of how realistic Jim and Pams whole thing was, so many people went through similar paths. Those little bits of realism all throughout the earlier seasons are what made the show stand out.

2025-01-11 05:53:56 +0000 UTCi am not a fan of jim/pam drama. i hear the excuse of "well we wanted to make it realistic" but the thing is....they aren't realistic. none of the office is. it's all dramatized charactitures. people watch the office for escapism, because they recognized themselves and others in the exaggeration and it's supposed to be silly and fun. making jim and pam have drama just feels so out of tone compared to the rest of the show and what they've built.

They should've explored the camera crew a lot earlier on since they've always openly been a part of the show and there's not many shows that have that opportunity.
