An episode I never think about when listing my favorite episodes, but also one I always enjoy a lot on a rewatch. An underrated entry in the Buffyverse canon.

I really like this episode. It's got exposition on the Darla story line, great stuff for the AI team, and for Lilah and the inner workings of W&H. Plus there's a lot of dreaming by Angel and Bethany about people from the past who changed their future. Last episode implied that Gunn's biggest problem was letting the past control his present. That's Angel's message to Bethany this episode. Hopefully Angel will listen to his own advice.

One of the episodes I watch over. I really liked it. Years ago when I first saw all those windows break I didn't see it coming and had awesome chills sensation that I said out loud, I love my show and had a tear in my eye because how good moments like that are incorporated into this universe. When her dad said hello rabbit then bang the building blew was awesome. Lilah is very attractive as her character grows, I would enjoy a girlfriend like her... Without the threat n fear of getting buried next to her house. I enjoy That scene with Wesley saying send her home to her father very good scene.

I would say this is definitely the "darkest" episode in the Buffyverse that we've seen. If not the darkest then definitely the most disturbing. I don't think this plot would work as well in BtVS as it does in Angel, whereas the tone of the show itself and the topics it's taken on have been a bit more "mature" than Buffy's own. Also glad we had more of a focus on Lilah since she intrigued me more than Lindsey ever did from the first time we saw her. It was nice to see how she goes about getting her own goals done for the firm, obviously taking a more manipulative route than the more direct approach that Lindsey tends to use. We've already seen it before with her treatment of Faith but her manipulation of Bethany was definitely one or two steps further, taking her in under the guise of being her friend and even protector in order to exploit her trauma on a more personal level. Can't wait for more Buffyverse reactions, Liam! They're always a nice highlight of my week

I feel like I always start my thoughts with "I just realized" or "I never thought about how" because talking about stuff that I've already got a solid opinion about is less fun, so here I go again. I've been thinking more about Angel's victimhood while watching this series with you, and it made me notice some possibly semi intentional parallels between Angel and Bethany pertaining to that. Angel isn't a victim in the traditional sense because his main abuser is a version of himself, but this whole show is about his trauma and like the feelings are very similar. It's a large part of why he's helpful to Bethany, there seems to be a certain level of understanding, almost solidarity, between them. Bethany to me does not come across as a damsel when juxtaposed against Angel. Her primary battle is with herself and she's dangerous because of what was done to her -- sound familiar? And then there's the fact that Angel is currently being sexually abused by someone who has been framed as his parental figure? And Wolfram & Hart is fucking with both of their heads using that abusive figure?

For a moment there I thought you might have missed the parallels between Bethany and Wesley re their relationships with their fathers; and then you mentioned it in your final thoughts. Guess the joke’s on me for thinking you’d, like, MISS anything. Sherlock who?
