Buffy Rewatch Update

nobody I saw, it was more saying they thought it would be better to do the rewatches once he had finished the whole show so he had the full scope, and to really dig into the rewatches. But generally, even those of us that had that opinion were still up for the rewatches from the few comments I saw, and had still voted on episodes we would like to see.

Oh, I just caught up with this -- I didn't realise the idea wasn't popular - I thought it was a great idea and voted for my picks in the 1-3 season episode polls. I kinda love that you came up with a fun idea like that! A Buffy rewatch of any kind would be awesome, hope you keep the idea whether you implement it now or in the future! x

Yeah, I voted, then wasn't around on here for a few days, very busy with Pride stuff and visiting friend. So I didn't know there was any commenting about not doing it to counter with a "do what you like, I'm up for it."

I liked the idea! But I can understand those eager for you to get to the next episodes. I bet nearly everyone - well probs 100% actually - would absolutely LOVE it if you did selected episode re-watches for each season at the end when you have finished Btvs. I'm in agreement with everyone who's said - you do it how you wanna. But I get it if lack of enthusiasm has sucked you energy for it at the moment. I for one hope you might come back to the idea later.

Sorry you dropped it. I think a lot of the people who were thinking “This is a cool, fun idea,l were, like me, voting and not commenting. People who don’t like something are just more likely to pipe up about it.

I'd love to watch a re-watch after you finish the show. The great thing about doing it once it's done is you'll see all the little foreshadowing that the show has throughout and such. Edit: I should add that if you wanna start re-watching today while watching the new stuff, I'm down for that too.

Totally, it's a great way to advertise your patreon too imo. Unfortunately the website they did it through, Rabb.it, is shutting down so he's gotta figure something else out, but I think there are a few different ways to do it depending on what kind of things you want.

Honestly I was neutral on this whole thing. I'm so excited for you to see future episodes, but then again I would love to see you rewatch older ones with a new perspective. Either way it is your channel, and you should do what you want to do!

I was cool about the rewatches, or whatever you are interested in doing, especially about the Buffyverse. It means you’re really liking it, and I wanted to know your thoughts about those “old” episodes with some perspective. I did think that maybe it was a better idea for when you finish the series, but this is not science. TL;DR do whatever you enjoy, those are the most satisfying reactions, and you’re not Netflix or whatever.

"Passion of the nerd" does these Buffy re-watches as a group hang out thing for patreon people's so they watch it together through something at a scheduled time. Not super clear how it works though but maybe you can try to contact him if it's something that interest you

I get the reasoning behind wanting to do re-watches at the halfway point, and I also get people wanting to you wait until you finish the series. Personally, it makes more sense to me to wait, so that you have the full scope of the show when you rewatch, but at the end of the day, you should be doing whatever makes you the happiest. You're one of the more consistent reactors, and you are also one of the only to do full reactions for just a dollar, most people do $ 5 minimum. I'm sure you've noticed that some fans have a tendency to act a little entitled after some time, just remember you're free to say, "No, this is what we are doing."

I get the reasoning, but I'm a little bummed it came to that. Might you reconsider at some point later in the series? There are a number of episodes, and I'm thinking of one in particular right now, that really reward subsequent rewatching. Either way, looking forward to whatever you post next.

Don't be a people pleaser. We like you because you're passionate and opinionated. If you wanna do a rewatch, do a rewatch, and people will watch. Don't listen to the two people who need to see the episode where Giles marries Maggie Walsh today. They can wait.
