that's really funny. 😁 Because she pretty much looks the same, except a couple of years younger

I knew I recognized her. I just hadn't the faintest clue from where. Even though she's missing hair in both πŸ˜‚

Another cameo: director Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous) has a cameo as the guy reading the Harry Potter magic newspaper who spots Tom in the subway, and Cameron Diaz is sitting behind him. The two Camerons cameo: https://i.imgur.com/PDsAnmu.jpg Cruise was filming both this and Crowe's Vanilla Sky, with Diaz, the same year, and the directors cameo in each others films (Spielberg has a cameo as himself at a fancy party in Vanilla Sky). Crowe quote: "Steven Spielberg came to the β€˜Vanilla Sky’ set one day to visit Tom Cruise, and I urged him to walk into the birthday sequence we were filming. He was a big hit, improvised dialogue, stayed a couple hours, and left threatening to put me into β€˜Minority Report.’ Months later, his costumer came to our office with an armful of bizarre ill-fitting clothes, and told me I’d been cast as a futuristic bum. Mercifully, Spielberg later re-cast me as a businessman on the subway holding an interactive USA Today. Excitedly chomping on an unlit cigar, he explained the USA Today would be alive with moving images, a newspaper from the future. He’s a truly joyful director. Cameron Diaz, who was also visiting his set that day, plays a businesswoman talking on a cellphone right behind me. Diaz and Cruise gave me acting tips, which I promptly forgot. It’s a great movie, one of Spielberg’s very best. Not even my poor acting could hold him back.”

Tons of interesting cameos in this movie as well, pretty sure the 'warden' guarding all the frozen prisoners is the same guy playing Looking Glass in the recent Watchmen. The great Max Von Sidow (as you might remember him being Bloodraven in GoT) was what really made this movie get that extra twist. From playing the befuddled confused grandad kind of role, to the cold calculating mastermind that set the whole movie up, it's a shame we lost him last year RIP. Another cool tidbit is that a lot of the tech shown in this movie were actual concepts in the world at the time it came out. The whole swiping thing hasn't been even invented yet by Apple for their iphone, it doesn't look dazzling atm, but when it aired in theatres, it got all the nerds hot and bothered by witnessing potential applications (Spielberg hired consultants on realistic sci fi tech that could be very well possible in the near future). Lastly, there's a YT video of one of the side director (?) getting interviewed and he mentioned how beastly of an actor Tom Cruise really is. That whole scene where they are trying to find Howard (the one that kills his cheating wife) and you see Tom sliding frames, rotating his power gloves and focusing, expanding images while giving out his monologue. Well apparently that whole thing was just him with a blank white screen. No visual aids. He timed his physical motion to the speech perfectly to match the CGI on screen, which is nothing new. Except he did this whole scene in "one take". Yep the man is crazily good (no pun intended) Looking just at his filmography alone will make people realize he's one of the last remaining true A-list megastar actor. Never cared about the private details of his life and how crazy he is, all we keep seeing is every former colleagues praises his kindness, work ethic on set and he kills it in any movie he stars in.

Unbeheld

For those who like visual aids, here's a quick Samantha Morton collage I made: https://i.imgur.com/7E67P1z.jpg

did you recognize Agatha as Alpha from The walking Dead?

For me Tom Cruise isn't just one of my favorite action stars - he's one of my favorite actors in general. One of the few actors who can master any genre. It could be action, yes. But also Comedy like Tropic Thunder (hilarious!) , thriller like The Firm, Vanilla Sky, Interview with the vampire, Collateral etc. Drama like Magnolia (my favorite performance of his), Jerry Maguire, A few good men, Rain Man etc. Sci-Fi like this one or Oblivion or Edge of tomorrow. And everything in between. I just love seeing him in every genre. 😍

Person of Interest follows a similar concept in some ways 😁
