Thanks for not making fun of the polar bear effect. (I knew you wouldn't.)

Susan seems cold blooded. She didn’t want to marry Michael because it’s “prosaic” but married Bryan later, so it feels like she was always planning to drop Michael once he’d supported her through law school.

This episode broke me when I first saw it. Because I feel like the situation with Michael and Walt could really happen irl? And he wanted to be in Walt's life so bad, and now that he is, he has to just let Walt think that he was a deadbeat. It sucks so bad. Honestly, if his ex-wife was so rich, she should have flown him out to at least visit sometimes. Ugh

I have lots of feelings and thoughts about Michael that I can't get into because of spoilers. Complex guy for sure and there's lots to empathize with, but he makes frustrating, if not outright infuriating choices lol. Even more infuriatingly, I completely understand it even if it's not what I would do. I'll just leave it at that for now lol. Totally with you on Harold Perrineau though.! Very talented guy and does great work with the part.

Because shes doing so much more than just reacting to Lost. she's also reacting to Twin Peaks and Movies and streaming on Twitch and doing a Podcast, etc. And she just got done with an amazing Twin Peaks youtube video that I know she put A LOT of time and effort into. And she's also got a thing called a life outside of this so theres just not enough time. :)

How can you only do two episodes a week? ;-)

Not sure how polar bears rank amongst other bears in terms of aggressiveness; I'm more familiar with them offering people bottles of Coca-Cola. As someone who is watching 'Lost' for the first time, Im enjoying the season and reactions

James Smith

I was not expecting it to be Claire at the end there. I was hoping it was Vincent because that dog better be okay! And yes you are right about polar bears, they are the most dangerous not only because they are the biggest but they are also one of the only animals that actively hunt humans. Thanks for this! Excited for next week! :)

First thing I remember was asking papa, why For there were many things I didn't know And daddy always smiled and took me by the hand Saying, someday you'll understand Well, I'm here to tell you now, each and every mother's son That you better learn it fast, you better learn it young 'Cause someday never comes I’m probably in the minority, but I’m a Michael fan. Harold Perrineau is just such a great actor, he’s such an iconic face to me: Romeo & Juliet, Oz, The Matrix sequels, Zero Dark Thirty, he’s always brilliant. And I feel for Michael here, as short-tempered as he can be. Besides, I think his temper is kind of justified. He has zero experience with kids and suddenly, he’s put to the ultimate test of fatherhood. It’s like he got in the car for his first driving lesson, only to find himself on the Nascar circuit. But we do see that Michael ultimately does what he thinks is the right thing: he gave up his art to support Susan, he was only swayed by the adoption thing when Susan suggested it was an act of selfishness, and as you pointed out he had a huge chance to ruin both Brian and Susan in Walt’s eyes, but didn’t take it because he prioritized Walt’s happiness. He’s such an everyman; he’s not a sexy doctor or a sexy fugitive or a sexy con man or a sexy rock star or a sexy bald hunter man, he’s just a dude who tries his best and makes a lot of mistakes. I agree that Locke is not being manipulative here; it might come across that way sometimes, but I think he has genuine intentions but it’s via a skewed perspective that isn’t malicious, but isn’t operating on a different level. Everyone else is about survival, he’s about discovering the secrets of the island, so there is a fundamental split in motivations. Then again, everyone has different motivations as characters; Michael and Sayid are the ones who seem most desperate to get off the island, but even they can’t agree on working together because they have different ideas. Boone is definitely a disciple, and I found it hilarious when he tried to assert himself as henchman only to get immediately overpowered because he’s just a rich kid and Michael is a grown man. Remember when I said Thomas was history’s greatest monster? I was mistaken. It’s Susan. She comes off as a complete sociopath who was sent from the future to destroy Michael’s happiness. And we do see what a happy, optimistic and responsible man he was before Susan hollowed out his life. Lol there are a good few times I can't tell which dog is barking, Vincent or Karma. Oh and I also would read the diary, kudos on honesty. We’re all bloody scum. I also think I’d encourage the raft, but not travel on it myself. Go get help, Michael. I’ll wait here with my volleyball wife.
