The creatures in this film really remind me of the Gnarl from Buffy (S7, E3). Especially the thumbs in the eyes. I've always wondered if the writers took some inspo from that episode.

Definitely worth watching the uncut UK version of the ending - it's only about 30 seconds more, but it totally recontextualises things and ties up Sarah's arc properly.
If you want an underrated British horror recommendation, also from director Neil Marshall, check out Dog Soldiers! Some of the best practical creature effects I've ever seen! And it stars Ser Davos from Game of Thrones ♥️

Also there are two endings, hoping you got the real one but I’ll see. So when releasing this movie in America, the studio thought that Americans wouldn’t be able to handle a bleak ending so they clipped the final part which pulls back to show Sarah never made it out. In the American version, it ends when she sees Juno in the car… which is only marginally more hopeful than the real ending. They did do a sequel, but it was trash and it’s best to pretend it doesn’t exist.

Yes, I am sat, I am waiting, my worthless day has become good. I love this film! And it’s directed by Neil Marshall who directed many Game of Thrones episodes including a favorite, Blackwater!
