Oh! I forgot to mention, there was initially a plan for Sarah Michelle Gellar to appear in this episode as Buffy. It was an idea early in production, and meant to mirror the way David Boreanaz appeared in the second-to-last episode of "Buffy". It never got very far in the plans because she was filming "The Grudge" and the schedules couldn't line up. Unlike the rumors about SMG showing up last episode, this one has confirmation in various interviews. I do wonder just what kind of role she would have had.

"If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do". That's been the core message of this series from the beginning, and I do like that it came back around for the finale. The world is never going to be Saved. Even if we fix every problem NOW, tomorrow a new problem will show up. What matters is that we keep trying, taking one step at a time, so we can get as close as we can. Of course, like everybody else, I wish we'd gotten more time to flesh this out instead of having to jam it in when they were cancelled.

Your review at the end is one more confirmation of why you're my Buffyverse reactor.

20 years later and im still sad about how they cancelled angel on season 5, so many great episodes and was so excited to see where they were gonna go. Im sad its coming to an end but its been so fun rewatching the buffy verse with you

Best (ironic) line: "You're the most amazing man I've ever met--- but you're a crappy liar." She says, in between him LYIN' HIS ASS OFF TO EVERYBODY! :D

This episode sets up the stakes for the finale masterfully. Hell, I've rewatched this show 50 billion times, give or take, and I was still stressed out watching it just now. I love that the show's themes are so hand-in-hand with its plot: evil persists, but that's no reason to succumb. Fight it! And don't Fade Away...

Jordan McLaren

oh wait, Do we get it today??

I like it, I like that it's not about winning or taking the Partners down. It's about fighting the fight, because it needs to be fought. Basically the entire series in nutshell.

Waiting for that final episode notification like 👀

Yeah Wolfram&Hart has been in 'Angel' since S1. In the first episode of the series; Lindsey identified himself as a lawyer at Wolfram&Hart and then Angel kicked his vampire client out of a window, to burn up in the sun. Looking forward to the finale reaction!

James Smith

"Burn the house down, while we are still in it" is a great line.... I love they make it clear that even if we succeed in this, the senior partners will still kill them.... Gives the decision to do it have more weight..
