Twin Peaks: 1x3 Full Reaction

"Zen, Or The Skill To Catch A Killer"

Twin Peaks: 1x3 Full Reaction

Comments

First two seasons were on ABC broadcast TV. Hour long episodes with commercials. The pilot was a 2 hour event that's why it is longer. There is also an international version of the pilot with a different ending that you may want to watch after you finish season 2.

Dusty Hill

The ending scene of this episode is obviously iconic, but I also really love the opening scene. The Horne family is having a calm dinner together, and then the introduction of Jerry derails the entire mood of the scene with his brie and butter sandwiches. Also, I'm not sure if you realized this, but Hawk did not see Jacoby going to the morgue. He saw the one-armed man.

Lime Pie

"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chants out between two worlds, fire walk with me,"

What you suspect that Sheriff Truman must be feeling about having to wait to hear about Laura Palmer's killer; is kind of how I feel about having to wait a whole week to see another Twin Peaks reaction.

James Smith

I said in the poll where you selected this that TP is a life altering experience. Its more than that tbh. Its a reality altering experience. Its difficult to really comprehend the mark the series has made across the entire entertainment industry since.

!kcoR s'teL We've had a few Lynchian elements do far, but this is the first element of real surrealism that's so special about this show and Lynch in general. Those last few minutes are so unnerving and iconic. God I love this show ♥️

You may recognize a nod to the room with red curtains in the Buffy episode Restless, in Willow's dream. This scene has references/parodies/nods in dozens of tv shows, my favorite may be in the Simpsons.

Lmao just before watching this I googled "when does [name redacted] thing happen" and lo and behold, end of this episode. What a show.

Jon D Arthur

The end of this episode is one of the most iconic and influential six minutes of television of all time.

Melissa Reynolds

That dream sequence airing on network tv in 1990 is still absolutely wild
