"He's an equal opportunity saver" is one of my favourite lines in the series.

I recall hearing a rumor that Oz WAS supposed to appear in the episode, but scheduling with Seth Green fell through.
I've got no source for this -- just internet rumors -- so take it with a grain of salt.

Was anyone else hoping they might bring back Oz for this episode? We know he did find a way to control his werewolf, at least temporarily. He might have been of some help. I think I even wrote a brief fanfic about it (It gave me the opportunity to have Angel and Oz converse in monosyllables, with Nina asking if they ever use full sentences ๐).
I suppose this could be described as a monster-of-the-week episode, except the monster is also our innocent client. It does give a good feeling of our team still finding a way to work together in the old way, with Fred's talk to Nina reconfirming their identity ("a big, helpless-helping, dysfunctional family").

This is often seen as a "minor" episode, but I like how quickly it moves. It never feels like it's rushing, but they never draw things out (For example, Fred discovers that the scientist was taking herbs to beat Lorne's reading in the next scene after we see him singing). Tight plotting and editing can elevate any TV show.
There's a lot of references to "An American Werewolf in London" in Nina's transformation and the way they showed her feeling the new urges and senses. Definitely deliberate homages.
Behind-the-scenes, the crew were very specific about the werewolves looking different than they did on "Buffy". The old designs for Oz were HEAVILY mocked, so they said this time it needed to actually look dangerous and monstrous. Hence why they made it bipedal, gave it bigger jaws and claws, etc. So it actually looks scary.

Love a good werewolf story around Halloween time. My favorite werewolf movie is 'American Werewolf in London' (1981).

Wesley noted his pen was silver, which is harmful to werewolves. Which is why Angel wanted to borrow it to fight the werewolf.

This is a great, if underrated episode - I love the spooky vibes, and this werewolf costume is by far the best we've had in either show. Much better than Oz's weird gorilla-dog look lol
That ending with the whole crew just hanging out is so heartwarming, I love it โค๏ธ
