Cordelia should be 21 or 22 at this point, Connor is probably somewhere in an 18 or so. Also Cordelia has no memory of Connor as a baby and Connor doesn't either. So, really, the only people with baggage on this would be ... all of us in the audience. But we all had the same reaction you did.

I'm not going to get too deep into as I'm sure you're going to hear so many opinions on this. I will just say to be very careful of spoilers. This whole thing is not unlike the season 7 Spike situation in its controversy among the fandom and there being a tone of external context that you don't have or want. So be careful.
I will say that, aside from your initial reaction, I literally laughed so hard when I looked up and say you taking notes with the most disappointed-to-the-point-of-being-annoyed professor or maybe therapist expression on your face. It was GOLDEN!
Love you, love your content. Can't wait for the next one.

I think in Angel that they were deliberately vague about Cordelia's age. For those of us following from Buffy, that age would be known. But in Angel, they never do anything to specify how old she is. She is portrayed in Angel as being vaguely 20-25 but they are always careful not to be too precise. Eg she is able to go into bars in season 1 which would be problematic in USA if she was under 21 at that time.

Wesley went to Fred's conference because he's in love with her.

It's not very clearly laid out, but he planted the book for her to find. So it would look like an "accident".

Cordelia would me at most 21, but of course she's 32 in real life and you can tell I think much more with her than the other girls over on Buffy. But anyway some people do look older for their age so that along with the acting makes it still believable, not that Cordy hasn't matured nicely but also Charisma still bring that youth to the role, if any of us age that much inside anyway lol.

I don't understand how the professor was the one that sent Fred. Didn't she find and read from the portal book on her own from a public library? That never made sense to me. Am I missing something guys?

You could argue that portals to different dimensions have different rules. The portal in "Anne" (s3e1) is always available, the Acathla portal requires a complex ritual and once open keeps getting bigger until ritually closed. Also in this episode we see the portal into Cordelia's heart apparently involves squat decoration and a combat workout.

I think your reaction to the kiss is exactly how all of us were supposed to feel. Just....yick.
I find the conversation between Fred and Wesley, and then Gunn's later actions, so fascinating: Fred knew Gunn wouldn't let her kill somebody, and that's why she loves him, but she knows Wesley WOULD let her kill somebody. Which might be the reason that she loves Gunn and not Wesley. But then Gunn kills the professor for her. Does that mean Fred misjudged Gunn from the beginning, and he was never the man she thought he was? Or is he exactly the man she thought he was, but she didn't appreciate how much that means he would do for her?
Lilah's gift to Wesley was a helmet, as a pun on "butting heads" and giving Wesley the advantage in their fights.

Except me. I knew it wouldn’t, ultimately, be a thing between them, but I did feel sad for him.

Regardless of the Cordy/Connor moment, I have always liked this episode. But there is one other thing that's always bothered me about it. In the Pylea arc of season 2, we learn that opening portals is a thing, but there are rules. Portals only open at certain hot spots, and if the spot was recently used or used too often, the portal goes dead and it needs time to recharge. In this episode, people are opening portals left and right to any dimension they please, including opening one up by PHONE? Okay, yeah. Everything we've established about them in season 2 goes right out the window.
All that aside, it's still a pretty good episode and I appreciate it for what it is.

"What the FUCK!!!!!!????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!"
Valid..... Valid.
Agewise, Cordelia graduated high school about three and a half years ago, so she's 21ish. Regarding Connor, it's never made sense to me to give him specific age (which I know the writers of the show do at one point), because he grew up in a HELL DIMENSION. Did they have a way of measuring years there that would correspond exactly to the 365 days per year on earth? I rather doubt it. The best we can do is look at him and assume the best. He looks like he's probably a young adult, late teens or, at the very most, early 20's.
But regardless of their ages, the BLEGH moment was horrible for so many other reasons, which you've already touched on, and which we were already thinking, anyways.

Connor is somewhere around 18; Cordelia is around 22. Its borderline purely on age but Conner is also socially much younger having grown up with only his kidnapper as human contact for most of his life.
Its super upsetting. Good thing Cordy nipped that in the butt.

My thoughts on Connor/Cordelia kiss is that I absolutely hate it and everything about it. And I don't think that's an uncommon opinion 🥲

So as a 1999 graduate of Sunnydale High, Cordelia would be 21 or 22 in Angel S4 (portrayed by Charisma Carpenter who was 32 when Angel S4 aired)
At the end of S3 Connor was mentioned as being 16 but at the beginning of S4 he is mentioned to be 18 (portrayed by Vincent Kartheiser who was 23 when AngelS4 aired)

"Do vampires not show up in photographs?" I think the implication is that Connor specifically didn't take any featuring Angel 🤔
"What are we looking at, her necklace?" Um, nope, I don't think that was it exactly. Poor, naive Cass.
