This was my first time watching and I liked it quite a bit; I'd heard mixed reviews and I was spoiled going into this that it had something to do with Satan and dolls, but that didn't detract from it for me - it certainly let me pick up on clues and piece things together pretty quick lol.
The ending felt a bit rushed and unclear, but wasn't as bad as some people say, and the rest of the film was good enough that I can forgive it - very tense and made me uneasy throughout. Great use of angles to draw your eye to the background, and I spotted a Satanic silhouette in the background at least twice, kind of like a goat head with horns. Nic Cage is always magnetic on-screen and he was delightfully creepy and off-putting. I can understand the need to maintain some mystery around him, but I agree that a bit more explanation would have been nice.
It's funny but this put me in the mood to rewatch Zodiac, so I know what my next movie night is going to be :)

Awe, this make me kinda bummed you didn't do a full video on I Saw the TV Glow. I feel these filmmakers both create fun and exciting new works in a sea of similar. I am glad you enjoyed this tho! I loved it, although I do find IStTVG a bit more cohesive. I feel this film left a lot of frames on the cutting room floor, as you definitely noticed with the story, haha.
Btw, I noticed you glancing off to the side in Buffy/Angel more recently, and I always thought it was you watching Karma sleeping in a new location or something, but the camera framing totally makes sense, too!

This film is like 'X-Files' meets 'Silence of the Lambs'.
A great reaction!

Pleasant surprise for a crazy strange film! And it’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m… the Almost Birthday Boy!
