I'm a big fan of Mr. Right which is a relatively underappreciated romcom which also stars Tim Roth and Sam Rockwell. For Gothic Comedy, I think you'd really like What We Do in the Shadows, which is a New Zealand mocumentary by Taika Watiti about a house of vampire. There's also a TV series set un Statin Island which is equally is good, if not better.

So I'm recommending it again lmao (it's actually a lot more than a gothic comedy to me, it's one of the most underrated and fascinating critiques of masculinity, racism, etc ever put to film in a metaphoric way; I am obsessed with that movie and Nic Cage's performance in it is on another level, I'll forever recommend this movie to anyone who asks for my opinion 😍)

2024-11-13 02:26:31 +0000 UTCwas wondering if it’d be in this video but since it isn’t - if you haven’t seen The Substance yet - that would be an amazing reaction or just a lone watch! reaction would be fun though because it’s so insane and entertaining, but also devastating and funny and sometimes relatable. and very deep, a lot of symbolism and it has a lot to say about a lot of things! favorite movie of the year easily and one of the best movies i’ve seen! 💚

2024-11-13 02:15:33 +0000 UTCI watched Death Becomes Her for the first time last year and was blown away. Meryl's line readings are top-notch- also one of my favorite performances of hers. Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) is a fantastic dark comedy. The Witches of Eastwick (1987), Lisa Frankenstein (2024), and Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023) are all fantastic and have gothic comedy vibes similar to Death Becomes Her.
