"That Vision Thing"

Angel: 3x2 Full Reaction

Comments

It's giving Grease race because it's the same location. The LA River @ 6th Street Bridge. It's a very famous filming location in LA. Great eye!

I think Cordelia's character has come a long way in many respects. However, I think it's telling that she says to Angel if she loses the visions; 'I couldn't help you... you wouldn't need me anymore'. While I believe Cordelia enjoys helping others, the visions have become instrinsic to her new sense of self and she frames herself as important because of them. Her worries about losing the visions here aren't about losing the ability to help others, but rather are about what it means for her personally. Her prior teenage selfishness still manifests in her desire to stay revelant to the group. It's interesting she's almost unwilling to give up this newfound status even in the face of dire physical ailments. We know status is profoundly important to Cordelia from her own comments and her early life of privilege (and how she responded when she lost it all). At this point, despite becoming a more altruistic person. We see some of Cordelia's less great qualities have evolved with her rather than her completely growing out of them. Her sense of self importance and desire for status remains. (She's one of my favourites and I say all this with love 😂.)

Oh yeah .. Billy. You know how you hated Burke in Aliens?

I love Skip. Just a regular 9-to-5 guy. It's good to see Angel have a nice casual conversation with someone in the same business. They both seemed to enjoy it.

Lassie was a collie, the star of movies in the 1940's, then several TV series in the 50's 60's, and 70's. Though her human friends would change in each iteration, the general format would usually involve Lassie happening onto some kind of trouble or danger, then rushing back to her people, where her urgent barking would somehow alert them that something was wrong and to follow her so they could stop it.

Not sure if anyone told you but HULU has the edited version of Buffy 6x1 and 6x2 , don’t know if you started watching yet but some scenes are trimmed a few seconds and one scene is removed altogether it’s not crucial if HULU is all your have

Something which is un-commented on in the episode, but is really obvious to me, is that Angel is so desperate to save Cordelia because of the reasons that Cordelia laid out last episode for why he feels guilty over Buffy dying: he wasn't there, he couldn't save her, and he couldn't sacrifice himself in her place. He couldn't even FAIL. He was just completely uninvolved. Now Cordelia is being tortured right in front of him, so there is that extra-strong imperative to DO SOMETHING. That's why he doesn't even hesitate to rescue the guy, even though he knows that this is probably something bad. He probably would have done it anyway, everybody else was on board with it as well, but in a different circumstance he probably would have agonized over the decision. Had the paralysis guilt. But not now. When he's in a situation where he CAN save somebody, then by god he is GOING to save somebody. if he couldn't save Buffy, then he is going to save Cordelia. Consequences be damned.

"Dick" is a slang shortening of "Detective", more commonly used for private investigators as opposed to police detectives. Hence, "Private Dick". It was in everyday use up until about the 1950s or so, so you see it a lot in film noir and classic detective fiction. It's generally fallen out of use after the mid-20th century because of the association with other things that "dick" can refer to. Now-a-days you only see it in gags like this, where somebody tries to use old-timey slang and everybody else thinks they're talking about penises.

This isnt Kal Penn's first appearance in the Buffyverse. In addition to this epiosde as the brain guy, he was also one of the college guys who became a caveman in Buffy season 4.

James Smith

How do i see full screen of the show and not the cut offs? A higher tier? Or all shows only have the rectangle bar at the bottom?

We are just blazing though these!
