This whole exchange is amazing. You can tell it's a Tim Minear script 😂. The title of the this episode is actually a reference to Alice in Wonderland. As is the quote Cordelia gleefully recites at the start: 'off with their heads!' I especially like the bit where Angel is telling the children how he 'cut off the evil laywer-beast's hand' 😂. Fred is also all kinds of adorable.

Do the Dance of Joy Angel has a lot of fun moments in the episode, hyper fixating on his reflection for instance, then is brought down to earth (or Pylea) by his demon transformation. Wesley has a photo of his friends Angel and Cordelia in his wallet. The photo looks like their S1 appearances. Really highlights the difference of Wesley in Buffy, where no one liked him, and now in Angel where he is accepted by the group and has become the leader, even if he gets flustered sometimes.

2024-11-05 02:53:57 +0000 UTCThis is a ridiculously well-timed surprise, I actually just finished watching something else when this dropped. I felt your realization when you put together the Wolf, Ram, and Hart. That moment deserves to be turned into a gif and used as a reaction throughout the internet. The shot of Fred holding up the bloody hand to distract Angel is something that has stuck with me from the very time I saw this episode. The imagery of it is so poetic and intense. We know she's scared and traumatized and half-crazy from her time here, but she's still trying to save Wesley and Gunn. And save Angel, too. That one action shows that she's a hero herself. Poor Lorne, we were just getting to know him. Hopefully it was quick.
