From artwork to pixels, color palettes to power-ups, we're hitting as many early highlights as I can fit in a half hour. It's The Super Mario Bros. Fashion Extrrravaganza! This is one I had a lot of fun putting together, and with help from some of you. I hope you enjoy getting to see it a week early and ad free. Please let me know what you think! And I know I didn't cover literally everything, so feel free to share your favorite early Mario designs.

2023-04-03 14:06:33 +0000 UTCI'll be honest: It's genuinely one of my biggest pet peeves that people nowadays mispronounce the title as "Bros" instead of "Brothers." I totally understand why. They are misreading the abbreviation "Bros." as the actual slang word "Bros", with the abbreviation having fallen out of the vernacular. Make no mistake, I have no problem with the word "bros". I have nothing against slang in general or that word in particular. But in this specific case, it's nothing more than a misreading. There's a reason there's a period in the title, after all. It would be like if people saw Dr. Mario and thought it was pronounced Druh Mario.

2023-03-27 15:37:18 +0000 UTCWe need to have a poll because I think this breaks down by generation lines. How do you pronounce "Super Mario Bros.", the game title? Younger YouTubers seem to consistently say "bros" while older players say "brothers". Does anyone else notice this or am I crazy?

But it's interesting to see how things changed around in the early days of both Mario and other franchises back when pixel art couldn't fully capture the art accurately. For the old live action movie, I honestly have a soft spot for it. I know it's not popular, and not very accurate to the games, but I can't bring myself to hate it.
