They do impact Shane & Ilya in a pretty big way. But the way Kip & Scott effect Hollanov is not shown in this episode. Kyle the bartender actually has his own book, it's book number 4 called Common Goal and it revolves around Kyle & Eric's story. To add to that, Heated Rivalry is based off of a set of books. Kip & Scott's book is called Game Changer and it is the first book in the series titled 'Game Changer'. Shane and Ilya have two books; Heated Rivalry and The Long Game. Heated Rivalry the show so far seems to be a mixture of Heated Rivalry, Game Changer & The Long Game. However, it remains to be seen whether or not any of the other stories will be included in the show.

It's a game where they take the best players from the league, put them in teams and they play games to showcase their abilities. Nobody really takes it too seriously since it's always in the middle of NHL season and they don't want to hurt themselves. In the first episode, the All-Star games were America vs Europe players so Scott and Shane played on the same team while Ilya played for Europe. Fun fact: The 2026 All-Star games won't be happening because most of the players are at the Olympics right now.

And the bartender Kyle is actually one of the main characters from book 4 called Common Goal. And may have a more prominent episode in s2.
