2024-01-06 15:46:58 +0000 UTCWhat’s sad about the GMW episode is that I narrowly missed seeing that episode when it aired (I stopped watching Disney Channel maybe a year before if not less), and I just know I would’ve thought it was groundbreaking representation. Early 2010s autism portrayals had such a particular condescending attitude toward them, it’s wild how much our pop culture understanding of autism has changed since then and it’s no wonder nobody thought me being autistic was even a possibility back then
