Tron: Legacy

Who is excited for the new Tron movie to come out! I can't wait! 🥰

Flynn's face is CGI'd in order to de-age Jeff Bridges. Arcades did kick butt in the 80's, lol. They were the place to be, man. Lol. This released today would benefit from the success of Cyberpunk. And the people that loved EDM growing up are more widespread today. That's why Tron: Ares is making an attempt today. The style has seen success in recent years, now. Movies with a similar feel, look, and music: Judge Dredd Dark City Equilibrium Escape from New York Strange Days Logan's Run Cube Circle (2015) The Running Man (1987) Total Recall (1990) Flash Gordon The Last Starfighter Johnny Mnemonic Brainscan Transcendence A Scanner Darkly Demolition Man Solarbabies City of Lost Children Brotherhood of the Wolf Run Lola Run The Saint Heavy Metal Annihilation Arrival Repo Men Blood Machines ...and Conan the Barbarian, lol, the music is top tier.

I love this movie. It REALLY made me for the first time appreciate more digital type music when for a long time I had been more of an analog instrument, rock/guitar person, who also loves orchestral movie soundtracks most of my life. I've liked other soundtracks with semi-similar tones before when I was younger, like the music for the Mortal Kombat film, etc, but this really brought the taste for that kind of stuff back to me as an adult. I like to explain the CGI Jeff Bridges Clu face in my head cannon by thinking that his CGI face is similar to early CGI of the late 80s and early 90s, like in The Abyss and Terminator 2. He's the prototype for the rest of the programs. Like he's an old Playstation video game face in universe. 😆That helps me not get distracted by it. Since he's the oldest program on this new grid, and he was designed by Kevin Flynn, the animation in his facial graphics aren't so great, and after Clu's revolution, Flynn didn't get the chance to upgrade him. That's just how I like to personally explain it. It's too bad you didn't watch the first movie first, to get the complete story of Jeff Bridges character, and you'd get SOOOO many references to the first movie. As a sequel, you'd have known more about Alan and Alan's Program, Tron as well. The first film might look a bit outdated, but the difference in terms of looks and technology in the original Grid is explainable in my mind because was designed in the early 80s, when computer tech and gaming was less sophisticated. Watching it would've make it that much harder in saying goodbye to Kevin Flynn at the end too.
