Remaking Page22 Panel2

You guys voted for this panel to be remade, so here it is :D

What I always loved about this panel - and the entire kitchen story-scene - was how the light falls upon Ryder. Often she is lit half-and-half, as if showing off the struggle in her own mind between the two ideas - lust vs rationality.

The color choice was deliberately made to look darker, much more intimate - and we have to ask ourselves, is this in her mind? Is this how she sees the situation?

This playful combination of colors, of poses and of lighting made this entire scene very, very challenging to pull off. Even now, I can see ways I could go back and change it, make it better.

I'm glad you guys voted this panel, as I had the opportunity now to modify it, without altering pre-established canon or moods. It's fun and it's its own thing ^^

Felix's model had a good revamp since then, even if it subtle, one can see the differences. As for Ryder, I made her expression much easier to understand (and see out of the darkness), as well as accentuated the "light struggle".

I toned down the background a little more, to put emphasis on the characters, make them pop nicer. The menu was brightened up, to better show off the suggestive pose (as Felix's belly was much brighter, and since we're aiming to make this a phallic object - or give it phallic symbolism - it feels a bit more fitting to take it closer to Felix's tummy fur color. Especially since in the original image, it was kind of blending into the background).

Gave Ryder a blush as well, but offered both versions to you guys to pick your favorite ^^ I was very tempted to insert it into the original page - but that will just snowball into me trying to remake ALL the previous shots, and that will detract from the time allocated to advancing the story.

This was a super fun experiment. Maybe we can do it again sometime! :D Let me know what you think!
