Bonus Images: Shirley first tests

What you see here are the very first renders I made of Shirley, before she even had a name!
I like to make the characters before writing a script, as they tend to then inspire a story, which means that during this phase I just try a bunch of random stuff out and see what sticks.
As you can see, she was initially a younger woman, and ended up being the Shirley you know but wearing a crop top and jeans. I ended up changing her clothes mid-way through production, which is a very unusual thing for me, and it's also not very smart.
You see, the point of making these test renders is testing how long the clothes take to render, if they are bugged, if they are easy to pose, if they work with the character proportions, etc. Which means that, by randomly deciding to use other clothes mid-way through the comic, I ended up finding out that the new clothes I chose were not ideal: they were buggy, made my computer very laggy and so on.
Even then, I think I made the right choice. The new clothes look better. Lol.
