The way Noah talks about mental illness always makes me want to send my friends who don't have mental health issues the songs like "THIS" to get them to understand. The only other songwriter I can think of who talks about it that accurately is Dan Campbell from The Wonder Years.

I grew up not too far from where Noah did and my parents/grandparents have literally been there/will be there forever… My parents always tell me that although it hurts them not to have me close, they know I can’t thrive there and are happy I left 11 years ago.

2023-10-12 20:46:05 +0000 UTCi was really dreading "call your mom" because of how painful it is. as someone who has been on both sides of that exact situation, it is one of those songs that is so incredibly devastating to listen to because you never forget how that felt in those moments and you can feel Noahs pain so clearly in this song. such a good reaction to this incredible album
