Also, I could honestly say I "see and know all of" maaaaybe one or two people, with a very loose definition of "all". That doesn't mean I don't love other people, Ky, you fucking idiot!

I'm trying to give parents and caregivers the benefit of the doubt in this. But if you believe, as Ky does, that you "can't accept and love someone as a whole being unless you can see and know all of them"... I mean, that's so fucking fucked up!! It's insulting and dehumanising to nonverbal people and the people who love them, and I can't believe they actually think this way because it would mean:
A. Parents who fail to do this spelling thing to their nonverbal kid, e.g. if it doesn't work for them or they think it's bullshit, don't really love their kid.
B. Kids who don't or can't connect or cooperate with these techniques are functionally unlovable.
Fuck that. Do parents not properly love infants because they can't express their thoughts? Does nobody love their frigging pets even? (I apologize for the comparison to animals here but I'm not a parent) If I sit down and read Moby Dick, there is a 0% chance that my dog could telepathically intuit a bunch of whale biology and boop her nose into some Scrabble letters to explain it. **But I know I love my fucking dog**.
Fuck this lady and her ableist bullshit.
