I kind of think if the Russians had laced the files with bad information to incriminate him and Joe, that bad information would have been immediately seized upon by the republicans in Congress and the pundits in media. It really seems like it’s just a bunch of random and embarrassing crude, little of which is actually definitely illegal or connected to his father. But it’s true there is no “laptop” as far as I know. It was just cloned hard drives that could as easily be from hacked iCloud accounts as anything else.

He had to INCITE A FUCKING INSURRECTION to get banned.

2025-01-29 15:41:53 +0000 UTCHey guys love the show, I wanted to push back just a little bit on something from this episode, Marsh stated multiple times that “the Hunter Biden Laptop was proven to be real,” but I’m not sure that’s the actual case? Everything I read said the best they could do was prove that some of the contents of the files that were leaked were proven to be real, real emails, real photos, etc. but it was something like only 10% of the contents could be verified. This doesn’t mean that “the laptop was real” especially that silly story about how he dropped it off at a blind computer repairman’s store and never picked it up, and wouldn’t you know that guy just happened to be Rudy Guiliani’s friend! If anything it proved the initial reports true where all those retired intelligence officials came out and said “they probably hacked his iCloud and then will layer fake things in with real things, it’s SOP for Russia.” Forgive me if I missed something new that revealed “the laptop is real” but I wanted to make sure we were being super accurate.

The beliefs of the community on a given platform are not necessarily representative of the wider community. An online community could be letting misinformation slide if it aligns with their beliefs, or they could be adding notes to things based on an interpretation that only holds within that platform's silo, not the wider community. Not to mention the entire premise of community notes is based on the argumentum ad populum fallacy.
