Wind River (2017) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Another great snow-set film is The Grey, with Liam Neeson.

Taylor Sheridan is a great writer/director. The TV series '1883' is one of the best series I've ever seen.

OMG, they finally watched it! I suggested this shortly after LA Confidential, and I'm so excited to see it make the viewing! Spotted the YT edit and IMMEDIATELY came here. Whew. This is a heavy one. Unforgettable.

Oh interesting!! I wonder if it'll ever be released! -Sam

Wow, I'm sure the reaction to seeing this in theaters was just silence. Definitely an incredible film! -Sam

Yep, I wasn't ready for this movie. That Jon Bernthal scene was brutal and tragic, though. I guarantee if he was in Punisher mode, NONE of them would've survived that night and he and Natalie would be in Ojai right now.

There was actually a sequel to Wind River made a couple years ago with the characters of Martin and his son Chip returning but no involvement from Taylor Sheridan. For whatever reason, its just been sitting on the shelf with still no planned release date.

I was posted to a base in 2017 where there wasn't much to do apart from going to the movies. Me and the usual crowd went at least 1-2 times per week. Wind River had very little press before it released. The poster outside the lobby mentioned the Sicario connection, which was more than enough to convince me to roll the dice. I was absolutely floored. The final act of the film is a masterclass in building tension. The MMIWG issue is well-known in Canada, but this is one of the few Hollywood productions that have touched on it.

This is a fantastic movie, I've watched it several times but I usually fast forward over the rape because I never want to see that part again. It's one of those movies that you might not want to rewatch because it hurts so much.

this is one of my all time favs. such good acting, where no dialogue is needed to show the character's raw emotion. And that flashback transition at the door of the trailer is one of the cleverest bits of filmmaking Ive ever seen!

Chris Bruneau

Fantastic movie.
