That was another fun watch with you guys. I hope that someday you’ll react to my favorite Burton (and Depp), which is Ed Wood (1994). Based on the true life of perhaps the worst director in Hollywood history. It’s probably Burton’s most conventional movie, so far as story, and it’s a real gem. It’s really sort of a love story to the director, given Burton’s love for filmmaking. The cast is incredible, and it’s beautifully shot in B&W.

Speaking of checked out dads one might compare Alan Arkin's character to Ted Wheeler from Stranger Things :) Same kinda character.
This was my favorite Tim Burton anything until Wednesday. Now I guess they are tied.
I just love the way Tim Burton creates characters. I absolutely love Agnes and the ice creams that they get.
Only Tim Burton could come up with stuff like that.

So this movie is kinda like Wednesday a bit? Except that most of the environment and people have more of an Enid vibe.
I would love to see you guys react to Wednesday season 2.
It's funny I think this is one of the movies that was on the Christmas movie poll or something, there's been several that have been on polls and I'm like "this movie has nothing to do with taht but OK." lol
But yeah this is one of my all-time favorite movies, and the ice dance one of my favorite scenes, and the most amazing music from Danny Elfman.
And HAH I heard you calling her Joyce I thought you were talking about the red head "Peggy Bundy" look alike.
And then yeah Joyce, Stranger Things.
Watching this I can hear in her voice the way she talks and says certain things it's the same in Stranger Things.
Winona Ryder is one of my favorites and this movie in here as Kim one of my childhood romantic fantasies that was all too short lived thanks to her idiot boyfriend.

Oh yeah, you guys should watch Big Fish, I just rewatched it and I hadn't seen it since I saw it in the theater and it was great, close runner up for my favorite Tim Burton.

Yeah this is probably still my favorite Tim Burton movie, it's just perfect to me, so unique I literally can't imagine how it could be better, except I remember hoping that Kim's granddaughter meant that maybe she has seen Edward again, but according to her, in her fairy tale retelling, she never did (but what if, hey Stranger Things have happened?). But yeah I love this movie, I don't think of it as a Christmas movie like I don't think of Die Hard as a Christmas movie, but they both are, especially because I always end up watching hem for Christmas lol.
Speaking of Stranger Things, that is funny that Sam mixed up Joyce and Kim because I had just thought how ironic that Joyce was one of the villains in this. And I thought it was funny that Alan Arkin as the sort of checked out dad, although a lot more likeable, because it's Alan Arkin, reminded me of Mike and Nancy's dad.
Btw among the photos of Kim is one of little Winona Ryder as a blonde and that's real, fun fact if you don't know she's a natural blonde but has dyed her hair her entire career. She even had dark hair in Lucas, which I think was her first movie, not sure.

Such a classic. Thank you for reacting to this one. The soundtrack alone makes the movie for me.

"Edward, would you mind trimming my hedges?
No, Edward...my *other* hedges." - Joyce, probably.

When Peggy is driving Edward home and they pass a boy on a Slip n' Slide in his front yard.
That was Nick Carter.

There is no greater moment of suspense in cinema than when Edward tries to eat the pea.
Next time, Edward. Next time.
