Great reaction, as usual. I kinda want to find out how you feel about Carol as a character, as events transpire!

I was thinking the same but I have zero experience in anything science related. I would love if you just listed the main issues if you don't mind, I am really curious. Obviously, removing the glove and maybe some type of automatic lockdown?

When I saw the baby carrier I said "don't show the baby, don't show the baby, don't show the baby!" So glad they didn't.

As someone who works in a BSL3 research lab with live coronavirus, this episode is a good reminder to never get lax with safety. So so so many protocols broken here by these scientists!

So far there is no hard evidence that exposure to the "virus" directly killed anyone
if you look at what's happening at any given moment in the world. there are people driving down highways at high speeds, planes in the air, industrial facilities in which people are interacting with heavy machinery, etc...
The "crop dusting" scene infected people quickly and without warning, and seemed to cause victims to go into that trance-like state for 20-30 minutes. That could lead to a significant number of deaths. All we witnessed in this episode were a few falls and slow motion auto accidents but extrapolate that to US population, or the world's population I can imagine a pretty big casualty rate, maybe 1 in 20 or so.

Oh woah, I love this! It gives another layer to Carol thinking of his writing! I completely missed the trilogy joke but that's hilarious!

First, I'm very excited you guys are doing this show!
Second, I think Vince Gilligan couldn't be any clearer that he is channeling himself into his lead character Carol. Out of all the professions on earth, he makes the hero of his show not a cop or some ex-military guy. He made the hero of his show a romance novelist. A writer! Just like him!
His own frustrations, his own way of thinking, his own questions and solutions, he is using Carol to speak them out loud. People may wonder why she has no kids, but I believe it's because Vince Gilligan himself has no children.
Vince Gilligan obviously wants to have fun back in the sci-fi genre (his first big job was writing for The X-Files). But after spending over a decade in the crime and drug universe of Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, I believe he wanted to write something for himself. Despite the high concept, I think this show is DEEPLY personal to him. Just like Carol, she's had popular success with her Wycaro novels, but it's her personal book she really cares about.
*Btw, I don't know if you noticed, but the guy on the PA at Barnes and Noble says that Carol's signing her FOURTH book in her Winds of Wycaro trilogy. A trilogy with 4 books is a LOL.
