I am so excited to watch All The President's Men with The Schmitts. I would also recommend The Plumbers on Max (though I still call it HBO), which follows the shenanigans.

warren beatty (of the parallax view) was in 'reds' and 'bugsy' too, both well worth a viewing, love 'em. Reds is about an american in the russian revolution (true story) and Bugsy is about the mob guy, Bugsy Siegel who brought the big time to las vegas (works as a sort of a prequel to scorsese's 'casino'), also based on a real person

I've seen it before, it's vibe is similar to 'The Theory of Everything' and Emilia Clarke is so delightful in it, you'll love her character.
It does feel a lesser known movie, I didn't even recognise it at first as the title is easy to forget.

FYI, All the President's Men is part of Pakula's unofficial "paranoia trilogy" - the others being Klute and The Parallax View

All the President's Men is one of the handful of movies that I can happily rewatch once a year. Brilliantly directed by Alan Pakula, it's a masterclass in filmmaking on every level, from William Goldman's perfect screenplay to David Shire's haunting score and Gordon Willis's atmospheric shadows. Robert Redford's long telephone scene is one of my favourite pieces of acting ever. I can't wait to watch it again.

If you aren't familiar with the history of Watergate, you might brush up on some of the players. There are quite a few.

Since no one has mentioned the other movie, I looked up the details. I've never had a bad time watching Emilia Clarke. Looks like Vanessa Kirby (!) and Diane Morgan (aka Philomena Cunk) also figure into it somehow.
Anyway, this looks EXTREMELY English. Not costume drama, Merchant-Ivory English, but maybe Four Weddings English.

All right.. here we go,,ATPM. All I can say is there’s a lot to follow so pay attention 😀. Even if you are versed in the historical events in the movie, it can be a bit overwhelming.
As for Rom-Coms, not my cup of tea either, but I would recommend Broadcast News, which IMHO goes beyond your typical Rom-Com cliched plot points. (Also like ATPM a movie about jounalism- but much more light hearted).

Looking forward to these. I'm not big on rom coms these days, but I do want to recommend this one from my childhood:
Roxanne (1987) starring Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah. The story is a comedic adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, a French play written in 1897. The soundtrack is also one of my personal favorites.

They’re not my type of movies but if you want others in the romantic realm, I got two: ‘As Good As It Gets’ (1997) with Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear. One of Jack’s best, earned him his 3rd Oscar. Helen Hunt also won, and Kinnear was nominated, as was the movie.
The other is ‘Enough Said’ (2013) with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini. Yes, Tony Soprano himself was the lead in a Romantic Dramedy! And it really showed just how much range he had as an actor. It was one of his last since he passed away.

Aww I was hoping you'd double dip with Redford and have Sneakers and All The President's Men in the same week, but Valentine's Day snuck in there lol.
