So that a really good news ;) Classic Western Poll is a Great Idea, but then i would also a Make a Poll for Modern Western Like "Dances With Wolves", "Silverdado", "Pale Rider", "Open Range" ... and so on... But for Me The Main Thing is that Western Polls are coming Back !!

If there is a true "classic western" poll I predict something like Once Upon a Time in the West would get more votes than all the John Ford westerns combined. Of course Once Upon a Time is great but it is a revisionist western(as all the Leones were) not a "classic western." IMO

2024-09-14 18:07:30 +0000 UTCThere's not a general discussion thread per se, so I'll just drop this idea here: It's been a minute since the last proper Noir poll, and with November around the corner it might be a good time for an alliterative theme ("November Noir" or "Noirvember"). This could be great in a lot of ways. The Noir polls are always super active with comments, the recent troubles of things clearing copyright might be skirted somewhat easier with films that are 60+ years old, and we can finally get a true read on the noirs you should react to since we've already cleared out most or all of the big Hitchcock films. Maybe you could even react to the top two instead of just the winner. :) Fingers also crossed we see a Classic Westerns poll in the near future as well. I nominate 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance' in the Schmitthead Drawing most months, but there are LOTS of other Westerns I'd be happy to vote for and see win.
