Bing! Bing! Bing! Popcorn! This is a very fun movie. Great cast, good story, good setting, and a great soundtrack. Really enjoying the results of the monthly drawing.

Seeing Joan Cusack in this has reminded me of Arlington Road (1999), which also stars Tim Robbins and Jeff Bridges. It's a great little crime/mystery/thriller, and perfect for reactors. It's been unfairly forgotten, in my opinion.

Identity is great. I'd also put in a plug for the high underappreciated The Ice Harvest with Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, directed by Harold Ramis. Really dark and great comedy.

Come on, Sam and TBR, admit it... your relationship is just as cute as Martin and Debbie.

I was the class of '87, but we never had any reunions since my graduating class only had 13 people. :)

John Cusack is awesome. I follow him on Twitter and he seems like a generally good person, which is cool. My favorites of his: Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer (also with a young Demi Moore), Hot Tub Time Machine, High Fidelity, Runaway Jury, Sixteen Candles (small part, but a great one), and of course this one.

Yes, I would love to see Romy and Michele on the channel as well as a counterpart to this.

One other time John Cusack was on the channel: you didn't seem to recognize him in a fairly significant supporting role in The Thin Red Line. Near the end, his character gets promoted by Nick Nolte's general. He seems ambivalent about it, because the troops need water more than he needs a promotion, but Nolte relents and orders the water.

Yeah I'm sad they'll have to edit around so much of the soundtrack for YouTube. It's rock solid!

Say Anything is the quintessential John Cusack movie.

"They all have husbands and wives and children and houses and dogs, and, you know, they've all made themselves a part of something and they can talk about what they do. What am I gonna say? 'I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?'"
Fucking love this movie. Spectacular choice for Schmitthead Monthly Movie Drawing.

Weirdly there were two reunion movies released in 1997; the other one is Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion, which is great too

Such a fun movie and the soundtrack of my youth. I was class of '88 so the music makes me very nostalgic. My favorite Cusack movies are Say Anything, Better Off Dead, Identity, Eight Men Out, and High Fidelity. Also, I love love love seeing Joan and Ann Cusack. They are always top notch.

Now I want more John Cusack! My first recommendation would be Identity (2003). It's a great mind-bending mystery/thriller that I think you guys would love. I think Sam, in particular, would love trying to work out the crime/mystery aspect of it. It's also got a great supporting cast, including Ray Liotta.

A family affair. Joan Cusack as Marcella, Ann Cusack as Amy (drunk girl), Bill Cusack as the waiter at the Hippo Club.
A downside, though. Just try answering when asked, "What kind of movie is it?".
