You have to do Four Rooms if you are doing a Tarantino movie tour.

One of my favourite 90s movies. Other good Robert Rodriguez movies are The Faculty and Planet Terror.

Watching Sam realize this was a vampire movie was one of the best parts of the reaction.
*They get to The Titty Twister*
"At least they're guaranteed some safety..." - Sam
Me: *Cackles*
*Salma Hyak's character dances for Richie*
"I'm worried for her." - Also Sam.
*Salma Hyak vamps out*
Me: *Deadpan stare* "You were saying?"
Until now, I've only seen this movie once, and I didn't care for it. If I really tried, I could probably explain why, but I won't get into it. I'm not trying to be vague, it's just sort of hard to put into words. The best I can do is to say it didn't land for me. But this was a fantastic reaction. I've never enjoyed a reaction to a film I disliked before, and now I've come out the other end of it kinda liking the film. LOL So, kudos, guys. You made me like a movie. :D

This was a nice surprise. I remember getting this on a Netflix DVD (when they used to send DVDs in the mail) back around 2006-2007 and my dad and I watched it and were totally taken by the insanity of it. Nice full length watch! Great reaction!

I read that Cheech's crazy pu**y monologue was completely improvised!! How high do y'all think he was during filming???

Out of Sight is the hottest every actor in it has ever been onscreen. Even Luis Guzman can get it.

I don't really like the first 2 parts of Four Rooms but Rodriguez and Tarantino ones are amazing. Also agreed about Planet Terror and Desperado, those are must sees

Tarantino has stated that "El Rey" is actually hell. Cheech Marin is the devil, and I assume that Seth is making a deal with the devil for a better place in hell. So probably good that Kate doesn't go with him.
Also this movie gave birth to the famous Clooney haircut (aka The Caesar). He was doing ER at the same time so he had it on the show and it took over many high schools.

There is also another Tarantino movie called "Four Rooms".. Its divided into 4 parts, each directed by a different director. Rodriguez does one of the parts and Tarantino also acts in the part he directs.. Its a funny crazy movie imo.
Planet Terror and Desperado are also pretty cool.

Check out “Sin City” for a great Robert Rodriguez experience.
I would recommend his “10 minute cooking school” videos as well.

Absolutely watch “Planet Terror”. Super fun. Tarantino also plays a lecherous villain.

Yes, Assault on Precinct 13, my favourite John Carpenter! I think you'll love it. Hope to see it here very soon!

Let's not skip over El Mariachi, the $7000 budget flick that was fantastic, and without it, he might never had made any of the movies mentioned here

Yeah, it would be great if they watched them all. I feel like El Mariachi too often gets overlooked in favor of its bigger budget, bigger star power offspring. I was lucky enough to be at the 20th anniversary screening of El Mariachi in Austin about ten years ago, attended by Rodriguez and some of the cast members. It played great in front of the big crowd and Rodriguez and his band played a rousing live concert after the screening.

I was just mentioning on a different post, I hope they watch the whole El Mariachi trilogy, which is El Mariachi (1992), Desperado (1995), and Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003). They're all fun and the first two make for a great illustration of Rodriguez's evolution as a filmmaker.

Also, one scene in Sin City was guest-directed by Quentin Tarantino, the one major thing I was going to say was missing from your list.

Yeah !!! It's a Dark Night :) When i think on this film, I think first on Salma Hayek and The Snake ;) You really have to watch Desperado ;) I also recommend more Harvey Keitel like "Head Above Water" from 1996 with Cameron Diaz or "Thelma and Louis" from 1991 with Geena Davis

Desperado is actually the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's breakthrough film, the ultra low-budget El Mariachi. Made for only $7,000, it's a great little film but you can watch Desperado without having seen it.
One thing to note about Natural Born Killers, it's better to view it as an Oliver Stone film than a Tarantino one. Tarantino wrote the original screenplay but it was significantly re-written and re-structured by Stone and a few other writers to the point that Tarantino has completely disowned it. He's always said that he hates the film but admits that he's never watched it all the way through.

Time for my customary push for you to watch Out of Sight (1998), with George Clooney, directed by Steven Soderbergh (the Ocean's movies), and based on a book by Elmore Leonard (Jackie Brown). Not only is it part of this late-'90s orbit between Jackie Brown and From Dusk Till Dawn, there's another fun little Tarantino connection, perhaps in part thanks to Danny DeVito, who produced both it and Pulp Fiction.

It's been such a long time since I've watched Four Rooms that I don't remember any of the details of any of the four shorts. I remember Tarantino's being my favorite of the four at the time, but that might change if I watched it now. I feel like I liked the whole thing, though.

Per your question at the end, the vampire turn was a total secret as far as the marketing went. They never tipped it off AT ALL. You either had to see it yourself or know people who had and would spoil it for you.

It's one of Carpenter's best films as well as one of his finest scores. He made it just two years before hitting it big with Halloween.

This opening scene is the first appearance of Michael Parks as Texas Ranger Earl McGraw. Despite his definitive fate in this film, Parks would go on to play the character again in Kill Bill Vol. 1, Death Proof and Planet Terror.
Scott's Precinct 13 t-shirt is a nod to John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13, a favorite film of both Tarantino and Rodriguez and one of the influences on this film.

Maybe the rat thing was a Chupacabra, they're Mexican and are meant to suck blood, mainly goats and livestock but possibly humans too.
