Ralph Bellamy, who plays Randolph Duke, also played Dr. Saperstein in Rosemary's Baby.

Classic comedy. Eddie Murphy was HUGE from 1982-89. If there had been social media back then, Eddie would have made the Kardashians look minuscule. He was the Elvis of Comedy.

"Life".
That movie is so underrated and funny, kind of sad in some parts, but with tons of heart. Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, with a great ensemble cast including Bernie Mack, it's one of my favorite Eddie Murphy movies.
Hey, fun fact about Trading Places, the baggage handlers, the short one served as a US senator, that's Al Franken, he was a head writer on SNL and later was elected as Minnesota's junior senator.

You have to see Eddie Murphy in the movie "Coming to America", the Duke's make kind of an appearance, but I'll say no more, LMAO :)

Lots of recommendations for Murphy's most established classics (BHC, Coming to America), but if I were to recommend a couple of real gems from later in his career, he made two great movies about making movies: Bowfinger (1999), co-starring Steve Martin, and the Netflix true story film Dolemite is My Name (2019).

Yes, please watch The Blues Brothers. Personally, between the two versions, I would say the theatrical cut is better, even if there are some scenes in the extended cut I like.

I haven't watched this movie in years it was great watching it again with you guys. I'd suggest another Eddie Murphy classic "Boomerang" and "Harlem Knights"

This is a good one. That scene with Akroyd’s eating the salmon stuck in his Santa beard, and the people on the bus looking on in shock, gets me every time.
You we were wondering about John Landis, as I’m sure you found out by now, he directed An American Werewolf in London. As others recommended, I also recommend his “Coming to America”, but also “The Blues Brothers” and “Animal House” (VERY un-PC in today’s eyes).
Did you recognize Al Franken (One of the baggage handlers on the train), before he became a U.S. senator , and still a comedian with his Partner Tom Davis.
I noticed for the first time that the stationmaster who hands off the gorilla cage to Al Franken was played by Stephen Stucker, who played Johnny in Airplane!.

Same here. Trading Places is fine, but Coming To America is a classic top tier comedy.

The only comedy where I had to look up what the hell they were doing at the end. Also, definitely recommend Coming To America as a followup

Their plan was to give Beeks a fake report that he would give to the Dukes, but they had to see the real report first so they would know what to put in the fake one. Him finding out just made them have to improvise.

Someone said this is Christmas themed? It kind of involves Christmas for some of it and that is it. It is a good movie anyway though, so I will go with it.

I have been quoting this movie since I was 12 and saw it on HBO (while my parents were at work). :D
I used to work with someone named Luis (pronounced Louie) and when ever he would walk into the room I would say "nobody wants to buy your drugs here, Louie!" I also like to say "and she stepped on the ball" and start laughing when someone tells a bad joke. :D

Never really loved this film, for some reason. But if it can lead to Coming To America, that’s good enough for me!

The interesting thing with these little mistakes is it gets you thinking... "what if Bruce Wayne were pulled out of his comfortable existence?"
Frank Miller fans will know what I'm talking about, but Frank basically put Daredevil in the same situation! It's all just great storytelling, no matter what the meduim.

Is this the one where Bruce Wayne gets fired and Joker takes over as Batman and then Bruce goes insane and becomes Joker and then the Flash shows up and saves the day?
