Robocop 2 (1990) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

That’s a very good suggestion. I feel like Daniel in particular would love that movie.

Jason Chirevas

Yeah, not a fan of this one.

Odd Thomas

TBR’s “10 points!” reaction in the beginning made me realize you two need to watch Death Race 2000 — the original satirical dystopia that revels in collateral damage! Starring David Carradine (Bill from Kill Bill) and a pre-fame Sly Stallone!

Alan Kingsley

Haha! Oh wow, thank you! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank God they made Robocop 2, so that this reaction exists! The contortionist violinist rolling over and breaking his violin is my favourite moment in the whole channel's history :)

Future Boy

This is probably the most extreme dystopia movie ever made. It's extreme but that is how people would act if they just lose all respect for life. I felt really bad for the kid when he died coz he's just a kid. Kids are innocent, they don't have the faculties to think for themselves or to know right from wrong. They just become the people around them. Adults do too but kids do it much quicker and much more irreversibly. You can see the glimpses of the kid's humanity when he looks away from Duffy getting operated on, and evil Kain forces him to look, and when he dies he just wants someone to be there with him like a parent. He probably didn't have any of that. But that's what I meant by extreme shock value, and I was actually underestimating it I was thinking only of the kid. The whole movie is filled with extreme shock value.

I have never seen them laugh or smile this much during a reaction hhonestly. Then sometimes they'll have like a sleeper reaction. Like during the violin guy I saw no reaction to the insanity at first LOL, but then it was like nonstop laughing after he fell down.

Alex

For most of the movie really but I noticed it most in the beginning when it was just a chain of violence and cruelty.

Alex

He's a ruthless man that guy.

Alex

Hey Sam look on the bright side. He probably has the mask on the whole time so you never see his face. :)

Alex

Wow. This snuck up on me. I worked at a movie theater back in the day where the competing movie theater was playing this. I hated the movie initially, but after a couple viewings I really loved this. At the time they played the hell out of that Babylon AD tune, " Angry and young, under the gun. The kid goes wild."

Philip Davetas

It's the weakest of the three for sure but still decent, as you say. Certainly better than the remake they did a few years back

Odd Thomas

I have a soft spot for this movie. Nothing compares to the original film but my favorite comic artist/writer Frank Miller wrote the original version of the script! Unfortunately, the studio chopped it up a bit, but a lot of the ideas and themes he explores in his comics are present here! The scene where all the interest groups put in all those crazy directives is such a Miller idea!!! Great Reaction and sorry for the long comment! Lol

Brent

I’m afraid not, although Robert John Burke (Tombstone, Law & Order: SVU) does a decent job stepping in. ROBOCOP 3 suffers mainly from the restrictions of moving from an R rating to PG-13 while still trying to maintain some semblance of the dark, satiric edge of the first two. In short, there’s a ninja in it…

Jason Chirevas

Apparently there was a Robocop tv series that lasted one season. All 22 episodes are on Tubi. The 2 hour pilot was based on a discarded script for Robocop 2.

Birdie Num Num

That was a great reaction! I loved all the jokes about Robocop killing kids. I about died when Robocop electrocuted himself to delete his directives and Daniel said, "Oh, he can kill kids now!" I really enjoy that you've done some not so serious films that you can kinda riff on such as this and Bloodsport. Ok, so that was the first time I've watched Robocop 2 in 15+ years. I still thought it was pretty fun, but there are some tone issues and they do completely drop the wife storyline. The screaming skull prototype is something I have never forgotten since I first saw it as a ten year old.

Jeffrey Miller

Haha aww yay! Thanks, Mark! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Hahaha you sound like Daniel! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

It's on our list! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL! Which part? I haven't watched the reaction yet haha -sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! He always goes straight for wanting the kill! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Aww no Peter Weller?! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

You guys were hysterical during this reaction:D I had not seen this movie in a long time and to be honest it wasn't something I thought I would see again. You guys made it well worth it.

Mark M

I wanted nothing more then Robocop to just kill the kid ,the girl and Cain!!! I hated they gave that kid an offscreen kill. You wanted to see that little shit suffer!!! The moment in this movie that was too much for me was when Duffy the cop guy was operated on in front of everyone. Dont bother with 3!!!! Even die-hard fans tell you that lol

Demos Samolis

I highly recommend 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

David Crabtree

I never thought I'd see a more disgusted reaction than The Boys but I think Sam broke the world record for the longest face of disgust I've ever seen. At least 10+ seconds nonstop LOLOL

Alex

I've never seen a man more eager to watch a cyborg kill children. :)

Ron Moses

No Weller, what happened with Lewis (but I don't fault the actress at all), the storyline. They were definitely trying to market this to kids big time at this point in the franchise. "THEY FLY NOW?". "THEY FLY NOW!".

Donna Castellano

If you take into account the adjustments they had to make for it — PG-13, no Peter Weller — ROBOCOP 3 is decent. That said, neither of the sequels touch the original, to be honest.

Jason Chirevas

I like 3

Odd Thomas

Just in case you guys are considering it (I don't think you do): Avoid the 3rd one like the plague !!!
