2022-08-23 05:56:47 +0000 UTCRecently showed my girlfriend both "Fast Times" and "Caddyshack" since they're iconic 80s films she hadn't seen. She loved them both but "Fast Times" was by far her favorite. It's also iconic and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Donna Castellano
2022-07-19 06:36:05 +0000 UTCI don't dislike it, but it is far down the Coen's filmography for me. Will never understand why it gets praised the way it does.

2022-07-19 00:41:09 +0000 UTCI'd like to recommend Grumpy Old Men, Sister Act, and Three Men and a Baby for comedies. All three have sequels, and in all cases, while the originals are wonderful, in my opinion, the sequels are even better. 2022-07-18 18:33:48 +0000 UTCI’m going to encourage you to go back a few more years: 1972’s “What’s Up, Doc?” starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal, directed by Peter Bogdanovich. It’s the director’s homage to the great screwball comedies of the 1930s and ‘40s—fast-paced (and witty) dialogue, unlikely coincidences, slapstick comedy, etc. Definitely worth a watch.
