Happy Gilmore (1996) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Happy Gilmore (1996) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Highly recommend Punch-Drunk Love (directed by Paul Thomas Anderson) for more Sandler.

Mitchell Smilie

If you guys do more Adam Sandler movies, I hope "Big Daddy" is on that list!

EdmanXERO

Punch-Drunk Love is a "non-comedy"? Lol, it is definitely a Romance/Comedy. It is the highest-rated Adam Sandler comedy on IMDB.

alexray

50 First Dates and The Longest Yard, are also some good Sandler movies that do not receive the love, hard to beat Happy Gilmore or Waterboy though lol.

Samuel Bruce

Isn’t it interesting how censored expletives are sometimes funnier than if they weren’t censored? 😆

Nick of Time

Oh wait, no way! We totally missed that! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Absolutely on our list! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Such a good line! Loving seeing so much of Carl Weathers on the channel :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! Love that -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Daniel loved that show! I've never seen it -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! I think you're right about the concussions -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you for the recommendation! I had no clue Bill Paxton also directed films! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh no way! We haven't seen that one -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! That's awesome! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yes! We've seen Big Daddy, so unfortunately, we can't do a first time reaction to that one :( -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh my goodness! HAHA! Not senilitous Maximus! Hilarious -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thanks, Gerard! Hope you enjoyed! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I think that was my favorite scene too! Sweet Bob Barker killing it! -sam

TBR Schmitt

Definitely need to watch Billy Madison! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ooh never heard of Punch-Drunk Love! And we have not seen Uncut Gems yet :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you! We're trying :) Next few weeks will be killer as we'll be out of town a ton, but we're excited to start getting a more regular schedule when we return! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

You're welcome Sam. Its got a lot of heart, I know you would love it. Set in the 80s. The first of three films that Sandler worked with Drew Barrymore. They have great chemistry.

Jonathan Patrick

Thank you for the recommendation! Neither of us have seen it :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thanks! We're trying :) -Sam

Fun fact: Happy's grandmother is the same woman who played the Larusso's neighbor in Karate Kid 1 when Daniel and his mom moved to LA. She was in KK3 as well when Daniel and Mr Miyagi return from Okinawa

Ken Veader

Billy Madison and The Wedding Singer have to be at some point next on your list guys if you have not seen it yet!!!

Demos Samolis

I agree its one of his top bests. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy. i would say are his funniest. Im not putting it any order. I just would say to anybody watching Sandler those are your introductions to watching his movies!!!

Demos Samolis

This is such a fun movie with so many memorable lines that I still find myself using to this day such as ‘How about a glass of shut the hell up?’😊. I would love a full version of Carl Weathers singing ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’. He sounded so good! What a pro.

Mark M

Yes, Big Daddy is my favorite of his early "stupid" comedies. I love Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates too.

Jen Barnes

LawdHammercy! That takes me back to high school. I used to say "I believe that's Mr. Gilmore's jacket!" ..and then i'd slow motion run in the hall doing the slow motion roar. Yeah...we were so cool haha! Edit - this was about 5 years after the movie came out. I'm old, but i'm not old old yet.

TK Kennon

If you want a little more Carl Weathers, watch Arrested Development. He has a very very small role but he is hilarious.

Yann Laliberté

Wedding Singer is amazing

Yann Laliberté

The final scene: Lincoln, Chubs, and the gator, lmao, Chalk that up to the concussions? I think a lot of Happy's personal style comes from the concussions. I haven't seen this movie in so long I forgot how funny it was, but it was always one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. The beeps in the background news cast Adam Sandler just throwing a beep laden tantrum is my favorite bit I think. Love to see some more Sandler!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Also, if you want another golf film recommendation, go for The Greatest Game Ever Played. With Shia LeBeouf and Stephen Dillane. Based on a true story about a young, working class amateur, Francis Ouimet, playing in the US Open. At a time when golf was seen as a sport for the wealthy and privileged.

Donna Castellano

The song is from ENDLESS LOVE which is actually Tom Cruise's first movie role (he only is in one scene but almost steals the movie)

Jason Dolan

26 years after this movie came out and I still torment my best friend by sneaking in a well timed “jackass!” 🤣

Jim Tatro

Big Daddy is a really good and heartfelt Adam Sandler comedy. I love that and this one. BS is less on the crazy comedy like this one tho.

Donna Castellano

This is the only comment I can agree with.

PIG

The TV edit for the movie has the scene where he confronts Stiller about the sweat shop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He6YSLEGnZM

Mike Adams

Fav Sandler movie by far for me. Siked for this reaction!

Gerard Smith

I love this movie too much! XD I can watch this over and over, but my favorite scene is the fight between Happy and Bob Barker. Seeing Bob Barker call Happy a bit** is classic. I grew up in the 70s & 80s watching The Price is Right with my grandmother, so it was a real treat seeing Bob Barker doing this. :D

Vwlss Nvwls

Indeed he does, but for me, Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems were more unique/memorable films.

alexray

He absolutely crushes Reign Over Me

Erich Bomke

This and Billy Madison is a great one-two punch!

David Crabtree

Personally, my favorite Adam Sandler movie is still Punch-Drunk Love, but he is incredible in Uncut Gems as well.

alexray

The earlier the better, just adds more value to the membership, one less upload for you to worry about and it creates bench strength, to help create a healthy upload queue for YouTube, in turn providing you more free time if needed down the road without any impact to upload schedules. TLDR - Keep it up! the Sooner the Better

Burt_Fuggin_Reynolds

The Wedding Singer is Adam Sandlers best film in my opinion, and I love whenever he works with Drew Barrymore. (3 films, so far)

Jonathan Patrick

Early upload= no complaints here. Can't wait to watch once I'm off work.
