Die Hard with a Vengence is the best of the Die Hard sequels!

Bad news about Bruce Willis 😢 https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/bruce-willis-stepping-away-career-aphasia-diagnosis-family-says-rcna22221

I would argue that "Frequency" is "The Notebook" for guys. Very similar to "Field Of Dreams" in that the story sounds ludicrous yet somehow it works and it's about fathers and sons. And, it also has a baseball connection.

Jeff Mills

And it was a TV movie which is amazing. One of my favorite stories about "Brian's Song" is while making it, James Caan got to meet Brian Piccolo's wife on the set. She said to Caan, "How did you get Brian's walk?" "Excuse me?" "I was watching you walk and it's uncannily like Brian." Caan had no idea that he was doing it consciously. One of my best friends, Brian, was named after Brian Piccolo.

Jeff Mills

I agree. It's like people who dislike "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory". Anyone who says they hate that movie, I can't be friends with you. Dealbreaker.

Jeff Mills

Field of Dreams...the notebook for guys. My eyes release a salty discharge every time.

TK Kennon

While I don't like Field of Dreams at all, Brian's Song is great. James Caan and Billy Dee Williams both did a great job.

Mike Tocci

Thank god one of my reaction channels is continuing the Die Hard franchise!! ... With A Vengeance is great! And then next one, Live Free or Die Hard, is just as good! BUT, and I can't emphasize this enough, you MUST stop there. The last one, that includes John's grown son in Russia, is simply not worthy of a watch, or the name Die Hard!!

Gerald Corona

Yippee-ki-yay, Mr. Falcon! LOL I think "Die Hard With A Vengeance" is better than "Die Hard 2: Die Harder". I still think they should do one more "Die Hard" movie called "Die Hardest" with John McClane returning and Benedict Cumberbatch playing Hans Gruber's son. One final round with the Gruber clan.

Jeff Mills

Without giving anything away, "Field Of Dreams" is one of a few films I can admit made me cry. The one that every guy mentions is "Brian's Song". If you've never seen that, the original with James Caan and Billy Dee Williams, I highly recommend it. You can ask the most macho, toughest, alpha male, dude and he'll tell you that "Brian's Song" made him weep. Based on a true story.

Jeff Mills

"Rocky V" is the weakest of the "Rocky" films IMHO, but I don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. The director of the first film, John Avildsen, comes back to direct and he also directed the "Karate Kid" trilogy. It was an attempt to bring "Rocky" back to his roots after the character began to get larger than life in "Rocky IV". "Rocky IV" is a really good movie and I enjoyed it very much, but it did seem like Rocky Balboa began to lose some of its reality. I prefer the reality-based stories of the first two "Rocky" movies and I think that's what Stallone and Avildsen were trying to do with "Rocky V". It ultimately didn't do as well as they would have liked to, but I thought Sage Stallone did a really good job playing Rocky Jr. RIP Sage. At least they didn't end the franchise with this film and came back strong with "Rocky Balboa". Still, I think TBR and Samantha will enjoy "Rocky V".

Jeff Mills

@CluckingBell Thanks for the tip. I didn't check YouTube on this for a while. I just know it's a movie that doesn't get much attention. 😊

Stephanie

I would honestly say Die Hard 5 is among the worst sequels, period -- not just the Die Hard series, but just, of any franchise in history. Absolutely nothing in it going on that is any good. And I spent a long time defending 4 against people who complained it was garbage, so I can be pretty forgiving!

Tyler Foster

Yeah, I like Die Hard 4 even though it's a shame it was a PG-13. Lots of good real stuntwork, including a real object hung in an elevator shaft and a real thing involving a helicopter, even if there was some digital augmentation. Don't want to explain too much in case you see it for the channel.

Tyler Foster

Not sure which movie is worse, Rocky V or A Good Day to Die Hard, not only are both bad, they really fail to live up to how good those franchises were.

Stephen King

I was too young to see Die Hard 1 or 2 in the theater, but as a Die Hard fan, I saw 3-5 in theaters. 4 was decent (Justin Long was a big bright spot), it actually has the 2nd best Rotten Tomatoes score of the Die Hards which surprises me a bit. the 5th one is a 15% on Rotten Tomatoes and that move was just bad.

Stephen King

“Rock! Rock!Rock!”😂😂😂😂😂

Jim Tatro

It didnt occur to me that was too spoilery but added a warning just in case, thank you

Jason Dolan

@Stephanie You, Me, & The Movies is posting their reaction to "A Perfect World" this week, and Devin G reacted to it last year, but I would love to see TBR Schmitt tackle it, too. Lots to talk about with that movie!

CluckingBell

@Alexander I love Live Free and Die Hard too. It's just too bad they didn't have the R rating on it. Have you ever heard Kevin Smith tell his story about working on that movie? Hilarious stuff.

Donna Castellano

They are gonna go through all the movies. I originally thought that they thought that all the Die Hards were Christmas movies but when I brought this up they said they know and they won't be waiting for Christmas. My guess is we'll get all Stallone movies and all Die Hards in time.. Right now they're doing the Rocky's so probably might continue Rambo after Creed 2.

Alex

Lots of spoilers here bro... They don't like to know anything about the movies they're gonna watch

Alex

Dude no way Die Hard 4 was one of the best. Some of the best lines. (You have to watch the theatrical version and not the unrated one).. One of the best one liners of all time was removed in the unrated version. Live Free or Die Hard is one of the best IMO. It stands evenly with the first one if not surpassing it. If Die Hard were not a classic Die Hard 4.0 would without a doubt be seen as better. Btw the movie is called "Live Free or Die Hard" (just to avoid confusion with Die Hard 4, 4.0 etc.)

Alex

Eh come on man. I know the 5th one isn't everyne's favorite and Lord knows I don't wanna watch it again but they should do it. They need to see it at least once. It's not a bad movie it just doesn't live up to the name Die Hard. It's part of the series TECHNICALLY even though we love to say it's not a real DH movie :) But it is enjoyable. TBR/Sam if you ignore the hate you will enjoy the 5th Die Hard. True it's not as good as the rest but it isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. And like Rocky 4 it is kind of relevant to current events right now.

Alex

By the way, another great sports movie is The Natural with Robert Redford.

Alex

What a great week! Field of Dreams-- such a great movie. And Die Hard with a Vengeance. I can't wait. Cobra Kai and Reacher go without saying.

Alex

It's my favorite

Ken Veader

Field Of Dreams is a great film and Die Hard with A Vengeance is my favorite of the series. I'd stop at 4 tho the 5th one wasn't even a real DH movie

Ken Veader

Agree that Die Hard with a Vengeance is the 2nd best of the series, really good movie. Die Hard 4 and 5 were pretty bad and just cash grabs I feel like.

Stephen King

(Spoilers) Yeah, that's also what happened with Die Hard 2, that was another spec script they turned into a Die Hard sequel. Basically I hate that John and Holly are divorced. It really kind of ruins everything that happens in the first two movies. What makes it worse is that there was a VERY simple fix. John is now visiting New York to be honored for all the amazing things he did in LA and DC. Simon plans everything around the timing of this ceremony. Holly is in Japan with the kids so they couldn't be there. John is seeing all of his old friends and coworkers - he goes out and gets drunk, the next morning he is hung over for the ceremony and the movie can play out exactly the same. To this day, I'll never understand why they destroyed this series with that decision. Fine movie, but not a good Die Hard movie. This is my Last Jedi, lol.

Jason Dolan

I agree. Field of Dreams is great but give me Bull Durham any day!

Jen Barnes

Given it was written as a non-Die Hard related film then turned into one, I get that criticism. I still love it tho.

Donna Castellano

Die Hard With A Vengeance?! Yes!!

Donna Castellano

I know how beloved Field of Dreams is but I have to say that I much prefer Bull Durham. Fingers crossed it can win a poll someday (I don't think ANY reactors have watched it yet!)

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

I fundamentally hate Die Hard 3 but it is a good action movie, just not a good Die Hard movie.

Jason Dolan

Die Hard with a vengeance <3

Abbraccia

Nice! Die Hard: With A Vengeance is an underrated gem!

Steven Montano

Anyone not charmed by Field of Dreams has no soul

Smooticus

Every week, spoiled with the film choices! Die Hard 3, almost as good the first, which makes it one of the best action films ever. And Field of Dreams, one of Costner's best, and a perfect film for the week after Se7en!

Future Boy

Yesss! A Perfect World is one of my favourite movies. They would be the first ones to react to it.

Stephanie

Yes !!! Another Great Week ... Die Hard 3 is for me one of the Best Bruce Willis !!! Field of Dreams is also a Classic ... Hope you watch more Kevin Costner !!! "Bull Durham" from 1988 and "Perfect World" from 1993 with Clint Eastwood are two very Good Suggestions who's Missing on your Watchlist

Florian Meier

Die Hard 3 is sooo good. I honestly think a case can be made that it's better than the first!

Jeffrey Miller

Oh nice. Can't wait for DH3.

Philip Davetas

If we are getting Die Hard 3 now, I don’t look foolish for holding out hope for Rambo III too!

Jonathon Dragovan

This is my favorite Die Hard film. Perfect balance of tension, action, comedy, roller coaster feeling. Sam Jacksons and Bruces chemistry is great and hilarious. Sadly the last of the R rated Die Hards. An overlooked Kevin Costner movie btw is "For Love of the Game", also stars John C Reiley and Kelly Preston. His 3rd baseball film.

Jonathan Patrick

Die Hard #3, awesome!

Pixie

Yes! Completing the Die Hard trilogy! TBR with a Vengeance!

Ellie Miller

DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE????? LETS GOO!!!!
