2022-04-02 21:09:18 +0000 UTCFor Summer 2022, "The Rocketeer" and/or "Dick Tracy". As I was a late teen/young adult in the early 90s, both were from Disney's adult division, Touchstone, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on those films in 2002. Take care, guys & #StaySafeStayHealthy!

2022-03-29 03:22:16 +0000 UTCHe'll yes on Young Guns. Also Young Guns 2.
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-25 12:43:19 +0000 UTCYou guys should watch โThe Rockโ from 1996
JayDee AhBooWan
2022-03-24 20:59:27 +0000 UTCI suggest Top Gun from 1986, Lethal Weapon from 1987, and Young Guns from 1988.
Shane Wood
2022-03-23 02:10:29 +0000 UTCYes !!! Both are Great choices !! Love J.T. Walsh in Breakdown
Florian Meier
2022-03-21 07:24:18 +0000 UTCAll of these are real good, but if you're looking to be on the edge of your seat, then Speed.
Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)
2022-03-20 17:35:37 +0000 UTCIf they want a really good DeNiro action movie, I recommend Ronin (1998). Outstanding car chase in that movie!
Scott Kerr
2022-03-20 14:32:55 +0000 UTCI'm glad you didn't finish that part.
Scott Kerr
2022-03-20 14:29:53 +0000 UTCBreakdown (1997) with Kurt Russell is good. I also recommend Face/off (1997) with Nicolas Cage.
Scott Kerr
2022-03-20 14:28:56 +0000 UTCSince The Fugitive and Speed are so close in the polls, I recommend both of them if possible.
Scott Kerr
2022-03-20 14:25:08 +0000 UTCAir Force One (1997) also a great 90s action movie.
Stephen King
2022-03-20 00:26:55 +0000 UTCThe Bourne Identity (2002)
christopher brown
2022-03-19 22:49:10 +0000 UTCMan On Fire... YES!!!!
Tim R
2022-03-19 22:48:30 +0000 UTCsuch a classic. I think it would do much better on a comedy poll. Regardless, I hope they choose it as their next DeNiro film
Ken Veader
2022-03-19 16:40:41 +0000 UTCFun Fact: Midnight Run was the first Robert De Niro movie I ever saw. I was 14 I think.
Jason Dolan
2022-03-19 02:01:25 +0000 UTCI would probably consider Midnight Run more comedy than action. Genuinely my favorite Deniro film
Ken Veader
2022-03-18 20:01:35 +0000 UTCMore suggestions for stand-alone action films for future polls: Man on Fire (2004), The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), 48 Hours (1982). Also, while someone already suggested a DeNiro poll (which is a brilliant idea), I think a Denzel Washington poll would also be in order, as he has several spectacular action films I think you guys would enjoy.
Steven Montano
2022-03-18 13:29:18 +0000 UTCI keep forgetting that these are movies that they've never watched before. While I'd really enjoy the reaction for The Fugitive, Speed is one that I feel they'd enjoy more.
Logan Kerlee
2022-03-18 04:11:59 +0000 UTCI hope Speed wins as well. You guys gotta see that one.
Raven Dark
2022-03-17 20:49:04 +0000 UTCAs one of the very few people who found The Fugitive a bit overrated, I hope Speed wins ;D

2022-03-17 14:27:17 +0000 UTCThe French Connection is a superb movie - a classic - but it's less action, more crime thriller, with one especially famous and brilliant action sequence.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 14:05:54 +0000 UTCDe Niro being absolutely hilarious.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 14:02:48 +0000 UTCFugitive is a classic

2022-03-17 02:07:17 +0000 UTCI think I watched Attack of the Bed Boys. It wasn't great lol.
Mark M
2022-03-17 02:03:47 +0000 UTCMidnight Run is a great movie, but itโs more of a comedy than a action movie. I would put that one and Ronin part of a DeNiro series like you guys did with Sly and Arnold.
Jim Tatro
2022-03-17 01:54:55 +0000 UTCI'm just gonna say it: Speed beating Ronin 6x+ is just silly. Y'all silly! :S
Uncle 'Traveling' Matt
2022-03-17 00:37:00 +0000 UTCMight as well watch both haha. They're both great movies.
Jay
2022-03-16 22:56:23 +0000 UTCSpeed and Fugitive are both great. I would vote for both if I could, picked Fugitive because fewer reactions exist to it on Your Tube.
Stephen King
2022-03-16 22:15:49 +0000 UTCDon't forget about Unbreakable. Amazing Bruce Willis movie
TGrimace
2022-03-16 21:24:23 +0000 UTC100% agreed. "Pop quiz. Both Speed and The Fugitive won the poll. WHAT DO YOU DO!"

James Bate
2022-03-16 20:03:13 +0000 UTCMidnight Run is almost more of a comedy, but I'm excited to see it on the list. Since you guys will eventually wrap up Stallone you should move onto Willis -- Last Man Standing, The Last Boyscout and Tears of the Sun are all terrific action films!
Steven Montano
2022-03-16 19:59:31 +0000 UTCI concur with Midnight Run. Only watched it last year for the first time since it was on the Rewatchables podcast. Great film.
Drzergberg
2022-03-16 19:27:34 +0000 UTCThe Raid is one of the best action films. Lesser known action movie, From Paris with Love is very fun to watch.
Drzergberg
2022-03-16 19:26:49 +0000 UTCDomino (2005) Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) Casino Royale (2006) and all of the other James Bond films with Daniel Craig, for that matter!
Domino
2022-03-16 19:19:14 +0000 UTCMidnight Run should probably be in a comedy poll from now on. It's got little chance of winning in an action poll. It's definitely one of De Niro's more impressive roles. At that time, people weren't sure that he could do comedy, but he nails this role. One of the reasons why I rank him above Pacino. He could do this role, Pacino couldn't, imo.
Shehab Dawoud
2022-03-16 18:51:15 +0000 UTCI would just say that, imo, The French Connection is a classic movie that is likely to be remembered longer than Speed or The Fugitive. They are all good movies, but The Fugitive and Speed didn't change cinema. Cop movies were never the same after The French Connection, plus it's based on a true story (well...I guess so is the Fugitive, though more loosely) of a drug bust where the cops seized 32 million pounds of heroin. and the cope involved were technical advisors on the film.
Kurt Yost
2022-03-16 18:22:25 +0000 UTCI think speed has more action than the fugitive, i would of thought the fugitive is more a drama. Maybe not, they are both suspenseful for sure!!

2022-03-16 17:24:58 +0000 UTCI cant believe Ronin has so few votes. Hopefully you two will get to it someday because it's arguably the best actual film on the list.

2022-03-16 16:42:03 +0000 UTCWith all the reviving of sequels these days, Keanu and Bullock could totally make a great sequel today with the right writer and director. Bigger and badder. Id watch it.
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 16:40:16 +0000 UTCYou should watch Speed AND The Fugitive, no question.
Jen Barnes
2022-03-16 16:37:41 +0000 UTCTimecop is really good. And yea speed was like my favorite movie. I got a Casio G-Shock watch coz of that movie :)
Alex
2022-03-16 16:31:01 +0000 UTCThe Fugitive and Speed are the best movies on this list.. Speed is iconic for me with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Also The Net with Sandra Bullock is really good as well.
Alex
2022-03-16 16:30:03 +0000 UTCAlternatively, if you don't want to do two of the polls based on the split in the same month, you could alternate between classic and contemporary every time you do a genre (and mix it up so that one genre you're tackling in a month is classic and another genre you're tackling is contemporary).
Tyler Foster
2022-03-16 16:02:16 +0000 UTCI might have already suggested this, but please consider splitting the polls between pre- and post-1980s in the future so that older movies actually have a chance of winning. It would mean you put up fewer polls in a month, because for example there would be two action polls, but otherwise I don't think movies like The French Connection are ever going to win, and not because The Fugitive or Speed is a better movie than The French Connection, or that they're even being compared at all, but simply because more people that are voting have seen The Fugitive and Speed than The French Connection.
Tyler Foster
2022-03-16 15:58:38 +0000 UTCAction movie Recommendations: 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air, Armageddon
David Crabtree
2022-03-16 15:45:11 +0000 UTC@Scooticus It's most likely so.
Mr. Writhms
2022-03-16 15:06:28 +0000 UTCWow, Midnight Run should be way at the top somewhere. Deniros and Grodins chemistry are amazing. Funny as hell, wonderful script and acting. Other great overlooked action films, Timecop (Van Damme), Blown Away (1994 Jeff Bridges, Tommy Lee Jones), I actually preffered Blown Away over Speed, it got overlooked bc Speed had come out a few months before.
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 15:00:10 +0000 UTCI voted for Midnight Run because its great and I don't think I've seen it on a poll before this one. If it doesn't win this time maybe it will make its way back to you if you decide to do a DeNiro filmography like you've done with Schwarzenegger and Stallone. You've already watched a good chunk of DeNiro movies which is great!
Mark M
2022-03-16 14:58:33 +0000 UTCCrazy, I just suggested Midnight Run in the comedy poll. It should be higher.
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 14:56:15 +0000 UTCThe Fugitive but it's a damn shame Midnight Run and Ronin aren't up there. Midnight Run's phenomenal buddy-cop movie with action and a lot of humor and great acting from De Niro and Charles Grodin. Ronin's also an action pack movie with an all star international list lead by once again De Niro but without the comedy. This is much more intense, serious underrated film with one of the best, if not the best car chases in cinema.
Joe Lazarus
2022-03-16 14:25:48 +0000 UTCSometimes i wonder if the lower scoring movies are because a lot of members/viewers haven't seen them either

2022-03-16 14:18:39 +0000 UTCAgree on Midnight Run.

2022-03-16 14:16:53 +0000 UTCSome good choices again.

2022-03-16 14:16:24 +0000 UTCOf course, The Fugitive, but I think people are sleeping on Midnight Run. One of the great action/comedies ever made and dare I say it...top tier DeNiro.
BD Williams
2022-03-16 14:00:50 +0000 UTC"Midnight Run" is more comedy than action. And it's a great one. It's a shame it's ignored.๐ฃ How about a couple of weeks in a year, you post reactions to movies on a "least votes" list? ๐
Mr. Writhms
2022-03-16 13:39:44 +0000 UTCFrom this list my 1 and 2 would be "Speed" and "The Fugitive". Although, "The Fugitive" is more suspense / thriller than action.
Miles E Coburn
2022-03-16 13:27:58 +0000 UTCBed Boys (1995), huh? While that may, in some sense, qualify as an "action" flick, I'm not entirely sure that it's appropriate for the channel ;) edit: Does this have anything to do with Dan's ball-twisting fetish?! ;)
Uncle 'Traveling' Matt
2022-03-16 13:21:06 +0000 UTCHave to agree. It is sad that the James Bond series isn't the best spy movie franchise these days. The last 3 (or 4) James Bond films wish they were HALF as good as the last three Mission: Impossible movies. The first three aren't bad, either.
Mike LL
2022-03-16 13:19:54 +0000 UTCI think "ASSAULT on Precinct 13" would have won if the first word was right, so let's just watch that one anyway! Just kidding...But I do love it, and it may be my favourite John Carpenter film. I think you'd love it as long as you went in expecting a B movie. Since it has no chance, I'll have to go for The Fugitive. I think it will make for a great reaction.
Future Boy
2022-03-16 13:13:57 +0000 UTCHoping the Mission Impossible series will appear at some point if you haven't seen it. The first 3 are not that great but the last 3 are phenomenal. The pinnacle of the action genre imo.
Shehab Dawoud
2022-03-16 13:11:18 +0000 UTCSPEED and The Fugitive.... should be 1-2. Great picks!
