Midnight Mass Episode 7 'Book VII: Revelation' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

I only watched this because of you guys and Red Letter Media. I didn't even watch it first, I watched it along with ye for my first time, and it was super fun. Interesting show and unique. It was perfect for Halloween coming but it also had drama and character. So, thank you, guys.

PIG

It’s super hard to pick between this and Bly, but I think I might have to give the edge to MM.

Reese

What a show! Thanks so much for reacting to it!!

Mark M

I agree, Midnight Mass is my favorite. I never thought I would love anything more than Hill House, but it really spoke to my heart.

Jen Barnes

hooray! I agree with you that I think Leeza not being able to feel her legs means that the head vampire or "angel" got burned up in the sun so its effects have worn off for its sires. I've officially decided that Midnight Mass is my favorite Flanagan series. I'm not sure why it hits me so differently than Hill House or Bly but I feel this amazing connection to the characters and themes that I don't feel with the others. don't get me wrong, Hill House and Bly are spectacular and I love them both but Midnight Mass is my new favorite. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it and were sobbing as much as I was at the ending haha

Nikki Sonrisa

I loved this final episode, but my favorite part was the sheriff and his son praying together in their final moments. I like to imagine that it shamed Bev when she saw them, but I doubt it.

Jen Barnes

I found the final scene with Erin comforting and hopeful. I think it's just such a beautiful thought that we're all part of some cosmic awareness dreaming of living. Thank you so much for the reaction!

Jessi

You did see Howard earlier in the series I don't remember if it was more than just this, but in the meeting where the Sheriff was debating with Bev about bibles in school, Howard was one of the people that was on the Sheriff's side of the argument.

Thomas Yanez

I like how Flanagan leaned so hard into the use of gospel and hymns, despite being an atheist. Also, I liked having the show built so solidly around finding a biblical explanation for all of the happenings and then having Erin's final speech just dismiss everything human, including religion and life experiences, as being a nothing more than a temporary arrangement of atoms in our part of the universe. Too bad a few of them didn't think about starting to dig some holes when the rec center went up in flames. They all could have survived if they had just started digging holes. That's assuming they would survive the death of the "angel". Since Lisa's paralysis returned, I'm assuming that happened with the death of the "angel". You'd think that after living who-knows-how-long in a hole before Pruitt found him, that the "angel" would have had a better get away plan than trying to slowly outfly the sunrise.

Thomas Yanez

Yes I'm aware you seem to have an issue with this and differentiating with vampires in general which is what I'm talking about and not the implementation in this show. I'm not making any comments on the implementation here at all. Also something else to point out is that the word vampire is not used once in this show.

Alex

Well, yeah, its one of those general "rules" but this isn't rocket science and not every implementation follows all the "rules". We did see multiple cases of them entering without invitation in that initial rampage montage. We saw a door open and a duo (including at least one of the altar boys) entered without invitation. And we saw one door get busted down with the vampire charging in. As with the holy objects discussed before, the rules are a little different here.

Thomas Yanez

Thanks for reacting to this! Really enjoyed rewatching it "with you" :D You're so perceptive. You catch so much of what should be caught. Such a masterpiece of a show though. I highly recommend you rewatch it sometime!

Sam's right. Vampires cannot enter a home unless they are invited or its human owner is dead.

Alex

Thank you guys so much. I dunno if it was coz of some of the late stuff last week but with hearing that you guys were having some trouble it looks like you've been doing a ton of work. Really appreciate you guys.

Alex

Epic conclusion. Looking forward to purchasing my FUCK YOU, BEV! Samantha coffee mug.
