Midnight Mass Episode 6 'Book VI: Acts of the Apostles' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

Okay… just watched this one and… what in the actual fuck… that last 30 minutes was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen.

Nick of Time

Well next week's the last episode so we'll see :)

Alex

Yep. Sarah Michelle Gellar. By epic I mean it spans 200-300 years and coz you know vampires are immortal so there's a lot of Highlander-like flashbacks that go really in depth into all the different characters. Which btw, there's also a Highlander TV show as well. That was one of my favorites growing up.. The 90s and early 2000s it feels like is like the golden era of TV shows like how the 80s were the golden era of movies.. but the thing with TV shows it never stopped.. I mean we have great TV shows all the way from then til now. All kinds. From like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Walker Texas Ranger, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Supernatural, The 100, Dexter, Grimm, Castle, Lost, Heroes, The Walking Dead, Stranger Things.... So many really good shows. But you guys probably haven't seen a lot of ones in the 90s. And a lot of the shows had a lot of martial arts fight scenes. Buffy, Angel and Charmed have tons of fighting, like actual martial arts type stuff like Cobra Kai.

Alex

Thank you! We are truly loving this series! Oh wow! Well I was shocked by what happened to her this episode! What a bad ass! I didn't even realize they were the same person haha -Sam

TBR Schmitt

True about the cats! We weren't sure about the not having blood though, seems they would be too weak to do much though which is good for Erin and friends :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Interesting! I'm very interested to see how this all plays out! We haven't seen Buffy or Angels. I have heard of Buffy though! I think it's Sarah Michelle Gellar? -Sam

TBR Schmitt

YES! It's like the first time Father Paul has been off his game, I think. Thank you! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you so much! I'm enjoying this series very much! I cannot wait for more Flanagan shows, like he needs to hurry up! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! Vampires aren't picky lol Loved that scene so much! -Sam

Not arguing, just pointing out the mistake in your example for clarity, since this show doesn't follow the generally accepted rules for holy objects.

Thomas Yanez

I think Bev was hiding because she's a coward. It basically is the icing on the cake to people like her.

Alex

Yes, my name is too long. Patreon doesn't allow you to have a bio and depending on whether we're like on a gaming creator that knows me as urbancombatkill or whatever you know. I wasn't able to put a bio so I did that instead. Alright so you got me on that scene, they do show cut marks, but I was talking about vampires in general. I was replying to TBR's comment "Can fire kill vampires?" I would rather not argue about something like this since it wasn't even what I was talking about in the first place. Rather just let ppl enjoy the show.

Alex

@Alexander_name_too_long You should watch the scene again. Episode 4, about 21 minutes in. If he was burned by the crucifix, you would expect to see a crucifix-shaped burn. But, if you actually watch the scene again, you'll see that he has three cuts in the position of the top three segments of the "t" shape. Also, there was no other sign of burning - no charring, no smoke, nothing. Compare that with the scene earlier in the episode that shows how violent the reaction to exposure to sunlight is. As you said, try it. Get a small, oddly-shaped, sharp edged metal object that will fit entirely inside your closed fist. Put it in the palm of your hand, close your hand around it and then squeeze as hard as you can. I mean, come on, the man is a priest. He spends his days handling holy objects, including crucifixes and holy water, on consecrated ground. Neither he, nor the "angel" nor any of the newly turned vampires had any issues being there. While most of the rest may still apply (I'm also dubious about efficacy of wooden stakes), I think it is safe to take holy objects off the list in this story.

Thomas Yanez

Oh wow, that's really cool.

Alex

Sebastian: There was a scene 2-4 episodes ago where Monsignor Pruitt was holding a cross while praying and it burned a hole in his hand. You could see blood when he opened it. A crucifix isn't going to cut into your hand from squeezing your hand. Get one and try it. It's like holding any other object. There's like a ton of plot holes in this show that you can't really depend on something like them wearing crucifixes in the church.. although if it's not direct skin contact it doesn't hurt them. But I was just talking about vampires in general not this show. Every show takes its own liberties with stuff like this, but generally those are the most common things that kill them.

Alex

H Mase: Have you watched it beginning to end? The character development of all the vampire characters throughout the show, throughout time and period scenes. The fight scenes that are literally in every episode. Teen drama has been in every hit show with teens since I can remember, and if it's not teens then it's adult but there's still drama and love story arcs.

Alex

Having so much fun watching this with you guys. My friend Alex is actually on this show - she plays the mother that becomes young - they started her in old age makeup - I wasn't sure if she was going to have flashback scenes like she had in The Haunting of Bly Manor, but the reverse aging was pretty awesome. She also played Wendy in Doctor Sleep.

Jason Dolan

Vampires in this show aren't standard vampires. They're definitely not affected by crucifixes (a lot of them are wearing crucifixes and they're all over the church) and i doubt a wooden stake would do anything

Sebastian Syrinx

Hahahahah!! One of the best ever epic stories of vampires ever made? Please just stop with overhyping a stupid tv teen drama show!

SGato!

Vampires don't die if they don't have blood. They can't die at all unless killed by the above ways. They become really weak if they don't have blood. But they don't have to have human blood. As seen by the cats in the first episode.

Alex

Yes, fire kills vampires. Vampires are killed by fire, decapitation, sunlight, holy water, crucifix/cross, and most commonly a wooden stake through the heart. There are tons of REALLY good vampire shows. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then Angel is one of the best ever epic stories of vampires ever made. I dunno if you guys watched it ever? coz it came out in the mid-90s, and lasted until the early 2000s. Angel came out before Buffy ended so. They are intertwined. The movie is horrible (The Buffy movie), but if you want to see the origin of Buffy, you can watch it but it's not good really.

Alex

I LOVED Riley's note that he left for Father Paul. Damn, that really struck a chord in him. What a fantastic reaction! :)

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Sam always have the best reactions to this show! xD I'm almost sad there's just one more episode and then you've reacted to this show. I've been waiting on this since you started with Hill House. Luckily Flannigan has more shows incoming :D

Robin Cederholm

Great reaction especially to Bev's fate and unfortunate return. Bev was probably hiding because she didn't think she was truly worthy of the "gift" being that she's a manipulative murderous Bev. I guess lucky for her vampires aren't that discerning,
