Color Of Money

2022-04-04 00:16:53 +0000 UTCIf you enjoy Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York then you must see him in My Left Foot....which is his greatest performance.
Brian Sevilla
2022-03-27 09:11:13 +0000 UTCIt would be so much fun to see After Hours in one of these reactions. Underrated gem, but of course Gangs of New York is more mainstream.
Cavatica
2022-03-23 18:35:09 +0000 UTCPlease do Cape Fear in the future...its awesome..
Roy Skodjevåg
2022-03-20 15:10:42 +0000 UTCEverybody picks Gangs for the action but King of Comedy and Color of Money is far more interesting
Gino Padula
2022-03-11 01:20:30 +0000 UTCOK, there are six on here that are on my all-time favorites films list. And the ones that aren't on mine, are on somebody else's. Scorsese, man. What can you say.
Mark Kelso
2022-02-21 19:47:58 +0000 UTCI feel so sorry for "After Hours"... Scorsese's most underrated film on his resume and that is a shame since it ranks among his best work. Ppl are really missing out on a true but hidden gem.
Joe Lazarus
2022-02-21 15:09:54 +0000 UTCWhy not watch BOTH? The original delves deeper into the characters, while the remake focuses more on suspense (some critics at the time it was released felt Scorsese's remake was more of a horror movie as opposed to the original's mystery/thriller), but both versions are equally good.
Joe Lazarus
2022-02-21 15:04:21 +0000 UTCGreat point.
Joe Lazarus
2022-02-21 15:00:18 +0000 UTCAnd what about New York, New York and Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More? Basically, you can pull a Scorsese movie out of a hat and have an amazing experience.
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 12:21:52 +0000 UTCI've heard that from a few people, but I really loved it. Just so fun to see all those great actors going for it.
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 12:19:30 +0000 UTCLove that movie - challenging, psychedelic, revolutionary, provocative, experimental.
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 12:17:27 +0000 UTCOh, heck yes for The Hustler
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 12:14:17 +0000 UTCMean Streets, introducing...who are these kids?...Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro!
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 12:13:45 +0000 UTCMy personal favorite Scorsese movie is Kundun, which is the story of the Dalai Lama and his escape from India, done with all non-professional actors. Hard to justify, but I just love that movie. I voted for King Of Comedy in the poll - because it's super funny (and cringey) and so you'd see both of the big Scorsese influences on Joker. But Gangs Of New York is cool as heck.
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 11:50:19 +0000 UTCI agree, but there is something about Gangs Of New York that super compelling. So much cool stuff going on.
Neal Romanek
2022-02-21 11:49:54 +0000 UTCkarate kid 2010, fire movie
CakePop2001
2022-02-21 04:00:16 +0000 UTCYES!!
Joe Lazarus
2022-02-21 01:39:40 +0000 UTCI agree with the comments in this thread. Another case of a newer movie winning probably because the others aren't as well known. And the original Cape Fear is the better version.
Mike Tocci
2022-02-20 22:55:18 +0000 UTCThe King of Comedy and Mean Streets are classics. Gangs of New York is okay, but there are so many better Scorsese movies on the list.
Mike Tocci
2022-02-20 22:53:29 +0000 UTCNo you're not. They should have had younger actors play the younger versions of the characters
Bert Taverner
2022-02-20 22:23:23 +0000 UTCI'm starting to get the feeling that I'm alone in my dismissal of The Irishman. Good heavens was I disappointed by that film.
Uncle 'Traveling' Matt
2022-02-20 19:41:53 +0000 UTCGangs of New York was my first introduction to Daniel Day-Lewis. His performance in this.. holy shit.
Jay
2022-02-20 19:11:46 +0000 UTCJust started following and wasnt aware. Thanks
ron clint
2022-02-20 17:36:47 +0000 UTCYou can’t watch “Color of Money” without watching “The Hustler” first…it’s a sequel!
Warren H
2022-02-20 17:10:56 +0000 UTCDid no one suggest “Last Temptation of Christ“? Dafoe and Keitel were amazing in it.
James Whalen
2022-02-20 16:20:31 +0000 UTCGangs of New York
Jen Barnes
2022-02-20 16:09:27 +0000 UTCThey watched Raging Bull a few Weeks ago
Florian Meier
2022-02-20 15:58:24 +0000 UTCBut just from an enterprise point gotta go Gangs first
Charlie Keeler
2022-02-20 15:19:18 +0000 UTCAh hell, such a tough poll…..but definitely watch all of them at some point, would have been interesting to do them in order of release.
Charlie Keeler
2022-02-20 15:18:36 +0000 UTCStart at the beginning with Mean Streets and then work your way through the years. He really hasn’t made a bad film. My personal favorites on this list are After Hours, The Irishman, and The Color of Money.
BD Williams
2022-02-20 13:41:11 +0000 UTCRaging Bull, Shutter Island are very notable mentions. In my humble opinion, SILENCE is one deep beautiful film. Its about faith and sacrifice, and the ending is memorable. Honorable mention: Wolf of Wall Street
ron clint
2022-02-20 13:20:39 +0000 UTCAfter Hours and The Color of Money are my top two.
Will Zamora
2022-02-20 13:08:49 +0000 UTCCape fear is amazing..you should see that regardless..
Roy Skodjevåg
2022-02-20 13:04:00 +0000 UTCAbsolutely love Gangs of New York, incredible cast, incredible movie and still to this day,one of the very best acting performances I have ever seen
Duncan
2022-02-20 12:11:28 +0000 UTCSurprised Age of Innocence isn't on here
Smooticus
2022-02-20 12:06:27 +0000 UTCI chose King of Comedy since you recently watched Taxi Driver and there were so many parallels to Joker in it. I consider it a companion piece to those other films in some ways.
Mark M
2022-02-20 11:59:45 +0000 UTCI love The Color of Money, but you guys should know it is a sequel to The Hustler. It is one of the few sequels you can watch and enjoy without having seen the 1st film, but still is a better experience watch the Hustler then The Color of Money.
Joseph Tamburo
2022-02-20 11:16:11 +0000 UTCWell, looks like the best movies here are getting the TOTAL shaft...wow
Bert Taverner
2022-02-20 10:51:06 +0000 UTCI'm guessing quite a large amount of patrons here have not seen the original or really most of these pre-'90s Scorsese candidates, which is possibly why Gangs of New York is winning in a landslide (which is one of the worst movies on this poll)
Bert Taverner
2022-02-20 10:48:42 +0000 UTCIt really is. Better than friggin' Gangs of New York
Bert Taverner
2022-02-20 10:45:04 +0000 UTCthe color of money not getting any love 🙁 such a good film too paul newman steals the movie he is fantastic , looks like GONY is going to take it oh well guess im skipping this one but you guys have plenty of content to watch so it's all good 👍
Ian
2022-02-20 10:05:14 +0000 UTCThe Wolf of Wall Street. Crazy film. Could also be on a comedy poll
Shehab Dawoud
2022-02-20 09:28:27 +0000 UTCFYI The King of Comedy was a huge influence on Joker.
Birdie Num Num
2022-02-20 09:15:27 +0000 UTCVoted King of Comedy—one of his most under appreciated.
Michael Soukup
2022-02-20 08:46:12 +0000 UTCI’m with you Nicole—I think the original is better.
Michael Soukup
2022-02-20 08:45:13 +0000 UTChaven't seen gangs of new york in awhile very much looking forward to it!
matthew
2022-02-20 08:29:56 +0000 UTCThe King Of Comedy is honestly my favourite role of his, completely flies under the radar all the time though
Nick Sneddon
2022-02-20 08:22:07 +0000 UTCToo bad After Hours won't win. Great underrated movie. Worth FYI-ing that your current winner is, as far as I know, with Paramount. Silence would also be Paramount. Not sure if you guys resolved your copyright battle with them.
Tyler Foster
2022-02-20 08:10:40 +0000 UTCLot of votes for Cape Fear which surprises me. I prefer the original though from 1962 with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. Maybe I’m missing something
Nicole Johnson
2022-02-20 07:42:23 +0000 UTCI would vote for Color of Money, but you really need to watch The Hustler first. You should do a Paul Newman series with those two and a bunch of others.
Jim Barnes
2022-02-20 07:24:44 +0000 UTCMy vote is for 2009's Gatsby, starring Vincent Chase. One of Scorsese's more underrated films.
David Crabtree
2022-02-20 07:20:36 +0000 UTCShutter Island (2010) 🤩
Domino
2022-02-20 07:13:06 +0000 UTCGangs of New York (2002) MOVIE MUST WATCH and masterpiece movie
James Bate
2022-02-20 07:03:49 +0000 UTCHad to vote for another movie but Mean Streets deserves recognition at least, it was his very first movie! It's at 0% but it's actually great, just not as great as Scorsese would become, one of the best filmmakers of all time.
