I think her wanting the new father gone is the reason why she starts, but once she saw the picture on the wall...it became a test. Bev is horrible.

I think due to the Monsignor’s dementia, Bev may have had undue influence over the priest before his trip, and wasn't really happy when the new one showed up. So she planned ridding herself of the newcomer by any means necessary, not knowing he was Pruitt. The poison was already admitted by her, before finding out that he is Pruitt by looking at the picture on the wall.

2022-02-07 03:41:39 +0000 UTCI've enjoyed these first few episodes so much that I cheated and went ahead to watch the whole thing. No spoilers but I figured out one important reveal by the middle of Ep. 2, but their were still still plenty of surprises that I never could have predicted.

One that I totally blanked on was the doctor being Mrs. Dudley, even though there wasn't even any makeup or aging/de-aging involved. At least Riley's dad and especially the doctor's mom had some de-aging to do first.

After all those years apart, they just easily fall back into familiarity. Reminds me of a few ex-g/fs and me where we've remained friends and whatnot. And FUCK BEV forever.
