True, if you notice though no stories actually came up saying anything about ketamine with the Bay Harbor Butcher. It didn't really show search results it just cut to her looking at that Bay Harbor Butcher website. I would imagine it would be really hard to get M99 in that small town.

But during the entire second season chase for the Bay Harbor Butcher they never even mention tox screens (but Dexter destroyed the bodies) or puncture wounds. Not only that they never even mentioned the cheek slices. If they have retconned this there will be alot of angry fans. M99 was essential to the history and story of Dexter. I thought they used ketamine instead during this season because it is more readily available. Also, they were able to used MCH's band's song "ketamine" for the closing credits of episode 5. But, to have him get caught because of it is just not true to the story. Maybe they will fix this for the next episode?

2021-12-30 06:04:10 +0000 UTCBTW, the Bay Harbour Butcher used M99 (Etorphine) a fair bit stronger and faster acting than Ketamine. It's not easy to obtain, Dex needed a licence to get it. Hence in Iron Lake he has to make do with Ketamine.
